The Personnel Files (Part Three - ML Hitting Coaches)

#1 Post by Tyler »

This is Part Three - ML Hitting Coaches. An Excel sheet of the data is attached to this post.

SUMMARY

ML Hitting Coaches average to a 89 Teach Hitting. The average hitting coach pulls in about $310,000 a year.

Five teams currently employ managers as hitting coaches. I have excluded four of these teams from the above averages (again, see the attachment for full data). I left in Tempe's hitting coach, as Tempe pulled off quite a coup and got Jeff Ormon under contract for less than the most expensive "pure" hitting coach (Mark Alexander of CST - $430,000).

Best Bargains
Tempe - If you can get a manager to sign for this little, it's a ridiculous bargain.

Most Overpaid
No hitting coaches are really "overpaid." Salaries fall within a fairly narrow band compared to other positions ($260,000 - $430,000).

Important Qualifications
The "Best Bargains" and "Most Overpaid" awards are given solely based on OOTP personnel ratings, not team performance.

The switch from OOTP 7/8 to 9 brought with it the new personnel contract system, where personnel sign like free agents, instead of through our forum-based waiver system. This has led to an increase in average salary for all personnel. Keep in mind that current personnel were signed under both the old and new systems, and that this will create disparities.
