2037 Schedule

#1 Post by Board of the PEBA »

First of all, Congrats to Dan Vail and the Niihama-shi-shi Ghosts - our 2036 PEC Rodriguez Cup holders - an amazing feat considering the Ghosts recent (2032) return to the PEBA after banishment to the WIL in 2024. This was the first championship for the Ghosts in their storied history - from LRS to PEBA to WIL and back to the PEBA.

Here is our preliminary schedule for the 2036-2037 Offseason, taking us to Spring Training (where the schedule may vary). This schedule begins with Monday, November 7th's first sim (during the normal sim window - 5pm PT/8pm ET). The schedule takes us through many significant events, which I have tried to highlight with the colorful schedule attached. There are a number of specific deadlines to note:

Mon. November 7 - First offseason sim. Revenue Sharing has been already delivered and it is time to set ticket prices, Scouting and Development Budgets. Your last chance to set these will be your export for Sim 6 - November 18, 2022. Once the Winter Meetings come, your ticket prices are frozen until the Season begins. PEBA Award voting will end at 11:59pm ET of the 7th, results will be entered in-game prior to the next sim. Trading is once again open.

Performance Loyalty & Market Adjustments. This PEBA tradition will be implemented soon and the results will be posted in the forum. End of Season Awards will be announced in-game.

Fri. November 11 - This is your last chance to make a decision on Team Options that you may hold on a players contract. Be sure to check your in-game mail messages. They will expire in the next sim. Best to make these decisions now.

Mon. November 14 - Salary Arbitration Hearings. Your arbitration offers to players must be submitted before this sim. If you have players you wish not to make offers to (who will become a free agent), be sure to withdraw an offer or simply release them. If you wish to make a Qualifying Offer to a player who will leave for Free Agency (and thus net you a Supplemental Pick in the next draft, should they sign elsewhere) those also must be made before this sim. Free Agents will declare on 12/5/2036, which will be mid-sim.

Sat. November 19 - Winter Meetings. Our Annual event will be held this day in the Winter Meeting Slack Channel - the platform will also provide the convenience of private discussions channels for trade talks. This venue will give individuals who cannot attend for the full time commitment, the chance to check in - and negotiate on the fly. Please note that CP accumulation will end at this time - and spending your CP on Rewards can begin - with the deadline to get your selections to the Commish of December 4. Start planning ahead - feel free to submit them early if you know what you want - it's a big help if you do - but no changes will occur until after the Winter Meetings. I will try to get an updated (but not final) CP Tracker posted soon.

Thurs. November 24 - The Rule 5 Draft will occur this day. The last chance to place a player who is Rule 5 eligible (# next to their name on the Transactions screen) onto the 40-man roster is exports for Sim 8 (Tues. November 22). Players who are rostered for the Sim 9 export will be released. The Rule 5 Draft occurs in-game so you will need to build a list of players on the Draft List screen by November 24, sim time. You will only be allowed to draft as many players as are spots on your 40-man roster, so if you have 40 players, there is no need to make a list.

Mon. December 5 - Pre-Season Begins.

Mon. December 12 - Spring Training Arrives. You will want to set your spring roster according to your needs - the first set of games will happen in the following sim on December 14.

Sat. December 24 - Opening Day - Box Scores for Christmas!! I will end the last spring sim a day earlier, before the rosters cut down to 26, so minor leaguers don't get docked for ML time. You will nonetheless need to get your rosters (ML, AAA, AA) down to 26 for PEBA, and 27 for AAA/AA, so the sim will run - but more to come at that time... This will be a special Saturday sim...

Do keep in mind that OOTP does weird things with the schedule - so the exact start dates of ST and Opening Day are 'flexible'

And... Looking ahead...

Sat. & Sun. January 21 & 22 - PEBA Live Draft. More, of course, as we approach Draft Day.

There you have it - I hope I have been thorough enough and haven't missed anything. Should something not add up, I've missed something, or you simply have a question - please speak up - I can't say with 100% assurance this is perfect...

It's time to pull up a chair to that Ol' Hot Stove!

Please find below the 2037 Regular Season Schedule, along with some key date info..

Of note:

Opening Day will be next Saturday, December 24 - a special Saturday sim and it will be a special Saturday morning sim as well, with AAA and AA also getting underway... Sim time will likely be around 10am PT/1pm ET...
- A Ball begins on the 29th of this month - our third Regular Season sim...
- The Short A season will (should) begin with Monday January 16th's sim - with All-Star voting also beginning at this point.
- The PEBA Draft will arrive with Thursday's, January 19 sim and will be held live in the Draft Slack channel on January 21 & 22, 1pm ET/10am PT. There will be more to come.
- Post-Draft, our sims will be moved to Wednesday (25th) and Saturday (28th) for the post-draft week, returning to M-TH on the 30th of January.
- Rookie Ball begins on the January 28th sim.
- All-Star voting ends on February 2 and teams will be announced in-game on the 6th.
- February 9th is the 31st PEBA All-Star Game, Live, in the forum, from Washoe Field in Reno, NV!
- The Trade Deadline arrives on February 16, with trades due by sim time. This year the deadline arrives in-game mid-week, so we will split the week of in-game 7/27-8/3 over two sims!
- Roster expansion arrives on the 6th of March Sim. This season that is a Tuesday in-game, so we will sim 8-days to get to September 1, so you'll get a full month of player usage!
- the Regular season ends on the 23rd of March, and the Playoffs begin the 27th - which means if we have a complete post-season set of games, run timely, we shall be crowning our 31st PEBA Champs right about a week before tax day... appropriate seeing we will be paying or receiving PEBA Tax money at the same time!!

Looking ahead, I estimate the Winter Meetings on April 22, 2023 and Opening Day just just about Memorial Day - again, these are just estimates... you never know what may happen...

Then, of course, there will be the discussion around migration to the expected v24 of OOTP, which I estimate would be around Mid-May...
