Re: 2035 Draft

#1 Post by Board of the PEBA »

This next weekend is the 2035 PEBA Amateur Draft and the Live event will be held at 10am PT/1PM ET on both Saturday and Sunday, March 19-20. GMs are expected to attend, and attendance will earn GMs 25 CP. We will draft within StatsLab as usual and we will hold the live chat in the PEBA Draft channel on Slack (please no posting there until Saturday). There teams can announce their selections as we go along, and the usual, jovial, conversation can be had! GMs who cannot attend the event and draft 'Live' are expected to have a draft list posted in StatsLab to cover at least 5 rounds (~150 players). It is HIGHLY recommended that all GMs post such a list, to cover themselves in cases of emergency! Life Happens... In addition to making sure you have lists set up, please let Dylan know if you will not be able to attend either of the days - it will make auto'ing your pick a lot quicker.

Dylan will once again be our workhorse behind the scenes, and we will get a new file up Sunday evening, after the draft. At that point you can make the proper roster moves and begin the process of offering bonuses to those who require them. The next 'game' sim will be Wednesday, March 23, to allow GMs time to manage their post-draft teams. The follow-up sim will be that Saturday, with Rookie Ball beginning the following Monday.

As always, you'll want to keep a close eye on your Organizational needs at Rookie Ball and Short A and draft accordingly.

For all you wheelers and dealers, please note that any trade involving 2035 draft picks need to be posted prior to Thursday, March 17th's sim - after which pick trading is closed. After the draft, teams may begin trading 2036 picks. The in-game Draft Order should be accurate as of sim time Thursday, as should the Traded Pick forum. I will post the proper order here as of Thursday's sim. If you haven't already, please be sure to cross check these lists and make sure you have been credited with the proper picks - it's certainly within the realm of possibility I've missed one or two. I apologize in advance. Dylan has StatsLab set for list building and the Draft Order will be updated in StatsLab soon after Thursday's sim. The message here - don't trust the draft lists until Thursday.

I think that's all for the draft. Also be aware that All-Star voting has begun in StatsLab. This years All-Star game will be held on Thursday, April 7th, so all votes must be in by April 3rd, 6pm ET. The 29th Annual PEBA All-Star game will be held at Whiten Field, Manchester, New Hampshire.
