Peter Monnington

Peter Monnington is one of the unsung heroes of the Calzones, in the line up more for his glove than his bat.

"He never lets you down with the glove, you get to the stage were the ball gets hit into centre and half way there your thinking it's an out. If he could get that average and on base % up you'd be talking a PEBA All Star, his home runs and rbi are already there".

Kijuro Yoshida Calzones Manager.

People within the PEBA and involved within baseball maybe surprised to know that in 2 full seasons he averages close to 30 home runs, also averaging over 70 rbi and is on pace to equal that this season.

Monnington had already hit a solo home run in the 2nd when he stepped up to the plate in the top of the 7th, Luis Antonio Aguilera was on 2nd after a double and Derrick Dwyer had gained 1st via a walk. The Englishman spared no time in hitting the first pitch he faced deep into the rightfield bleachers, that wasn't the only 3 run homer as Shigekazu Shimizu hit one later in the inning as just like a British bus you wait ages for one and two turn up at the sametime.

The Calzones would go on to win 7-2 thanks mainly to a quiet Englishman from Runcorn in the North of England (Gods Country).

Dan Stockstill

San Antonio right-hander Dan Stockstill pitched his team to victory over the Scottish Claymores at The Castle. The final score was 6-2. San Antonio is now 16-19.

Stockstill threw well for San Antonio, thwarting the Scottish offense. The right-hander tossed 98 pitches over 8 innings. He allowed just 1 run on 3 hits.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Stockstill.

Anthony Lee

San Antonio Calzones of Laredo starter Anthony Lee was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Scottish Claymores, 5-2. In 5.2 innings, Lee surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Pedro Torres earned the save for San Antonio, his 2nd of the year.

Luis Cedeño, the two-time Royal Raker Award winner , had a direct impact on the outcome. Cedeño contributed a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put San Antonio up, 3-0.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Cedeño told the San Antonio Gazette.

San Antonio has now won 3 in a row.
