Fans clamor to experience new ballpark

#1 Post by Underground »

London, UK -

Fans are clamoring to get season tickets to experience the inaugural season of the Underground's new Pearson Metropolitan ballpark. Despite the team very clearly and publicly stating they have no serious intention to compete this year their season tickets have been one of the hottest buys in London since going on sale a few weeks ago. As of January 21st the team announced that 11,276 tickets had been sold. Using a projection model to estimate the remaining ticket sales, the team estimates over a 31% increase in season ticket purchases this year. Fueled by the roughly ~5000 more season tickets per game, the team also projects overall attendance per game to increase nearly 15% to sellout levels.

Though the team did slightly lower prices from their final sale price at the end of the 2033 season, the decrease in price has more than been made up for by increased sales. The team now projects a nearly $3,000,000 increase in season ticket sales on top of an additional $500,000 in gate revenue increase. The news was everything GM Cyan Winters was hoping for when he gambled upon the move to replace Wembley with a new ballpark. The influx of new fans and (most importantly) money is a critical piece to laying the foundation for continued competitive growth in London.

The team still expects to begin opening their competitive window in 2035 and hopes that a more exciting on-field product will entice season ticket holders to renew following the inaugural season. Meanwhile, team owner Sir John Fowler Jr. is reportedly quite pleased with the strides forward in fiscal management the team has undergone and is thrilled to be beginning the season with over 26 million in the bank alongside a projected profit of nearly 9 million.

Pearson Metropolitan does not yet have an official opening date, but the team confirms that the plan remains to have a Foo Fighters concert open the venue.
