Kentucky Thoroughbreds 2033 minor league batter of the year is 1B Takeo Miyagi of the Fort Wayne Pioneers, the team's A-ball affiliate.

Miyagi, a 2029 4th round pick (101st overall), hit .276/.355/.534 this season with 28 doubles, 1 triple, and 22 home runs. He scored 63 runs and batted in 65. An exceptional fielder, he had just 4 errors at 1B (.995 fielding %) and a ZR of +8.7. While still a couple of years away from the Majors, he's a likely candidate to move up in the farm system during the 2024 season and might even get an invite to spring training.

Kentucky's minor league pitcher of 2033 is SP Tsuneo Yoshida of the short-season A Barrow Arctic Blast.

In 18 starts during 2033, Yoshida won 8 games while taking 4 losses. In his 116 innings pitched he surrendered only 2 HR's, allowed 35 walks, struck out 87 and allowed hitters just a .223 BABIP. His miniscule ERA of 1.40 and WHIP of 0.94 are tremendous improvements upon his 2031/2032 numbers while playing for Fort Wayne at the a-ball level. Management is excited to see how this youngster develops over the course of the next couple of seasons.

Fargo announces 2033 Minor League Players of the Year:

Image David Castro played the full season at AAA Sioux Falls Lakota hitting .316/.371/.539/.911 for a 178 OPS+ and 173 WRC+. Castro put the ball in play a lot, only walking 4.3% of the time and striking out 7.8% of the time. The power looks real (.233 iso) and the real exciting factor is that he managed all of this being only 21 years old. He was the part of the same international free agent signing class as current Fargo Dinosaur Tony Mireles and has been in Mireles shadow coming up, but Castro is now primed to join Mireles next season if all goes well.

Image Shui, a scouting discovery that joined Fargo's international squad back in 2030, built on his solid rookie league debut last year by going out and putting up a 9-7 record in 22 starts with a 1.87 ERA (184 ERA+) and 6.3 WAR for the Kenai Traders of the Surf and Snow Amalgamation (S-A) league.

Okinawa 2033 Minor League Batter of the Year:Kieran Foll (AA)
Image
Foll, the switch hitting 3B from Birmingham, England had 33 HRs and 74 RBIs in AA this season and apparently is a pillar of consistency as those were the exact numbers he achieved in the previous season in AA. Originally not much was expected of the 6th round pick moments but a strong work ethic has allowed him to excel, especially as a feared power hitter in the minors. As always with Foll, in order to take the next step, the team is looking to see how he works to improve himself over the off season specifically with focusing on lowering his strike out rate.

Okinawa 2033 Minor League Pitcher of the Year: SP Miguel Zambrano (AAA)
Image
Many thought that this award would have gone to the organizations top pitching prospect in Shou Saitou, however 24yo Zambrano had an excellent and consistent year which in the end outpaces Saitou. Zambrano is a power pitchers power pitcher with a PEBA quality fastball and forkball which led him to a 10-7 record, however that doesnt tell the full story as across 163 innings in AAA Zambrano has a 8.2 K/9 rate and 148 Ks against 30 BBs which was great to see as he worked on his control and trying to work in a 3rd pitch with his knuckle curve. Depending on what direction the Shisa go in the offseason, Zambrano looks to be on the cusp of being in the show.
I've been following Zambrano's progress since we made that trade a few seasons ago as I definitely thought he had some big time upside when he was coming up in my system. I'm happy to see he is on the verge of breaking into the league. If that knuckle curve, third pitch, develops like it looks like it can, he's going to be a very good starter for years.

Yuma Arroyos proudly announce our two underperforming but overly talented MINOR LEAGUE PLAYERS OF THE YEAR!

Pitcher Ik-Sung Chong, Henderson (AAA) managed to go 11-4 with a 2.64 ERA with a sub-.500 team.

Catcher Ivan Chavez, Salton Sea (A) and Calgary (AA) had a combined .278 batting average for 2 more losing teams.

Impressive subpar performances, wouldn't you say?

Palm Springs Minor League Player Awards 2033
Image
Palm Springs' Minor League Hitter of the Year for 2033 is first baseman Vincente 'Dragonslayer' Gallardo. The Panamanian is a repeat winner after a dominating season in Triple A, hitting .237 and racking up 28 home runs and 93 RBIs for the Missionaries. Gallardo's success led to his selection to play in the 2033 Planetary Extreme Baseball Alliance All-Star Futures Game, as well as a third place finish in the 2033 GBB AAA RML Outstanding Hitter Award voting. He is not so shabby in the field either, winning the Rocky Mountain League Glove Wizard Award at first base. Taken all together we can expect the 23 year old to be appearing in the salmon and green very soon.

Image
Palm Springs' Minor League Pitcher of the Year for 2033 is also a repeat winner--starter César González. This promising young Cuban was selected by the Codgers in the supplemental round of the 2031 draft after a sterling college career at Keio University, in which he helped the Unicorns win the International College Championship three our of his four college seasons! His senior year was capped off by his selection to the International Collegiate Baseball Association All-Star Game and also winning the 2031 ICOL PL Outstanding Pitcher Award. At Hi-A National City for the 2032 season, he threw 135 strikeouts for the Bankers with a 1.65 ERA, leading to his being chosen for the 2032 North American Farm Team Affiliation All-Star Game and finishing third in 2032 NAFTA A BCL Outstanding Pitcher Award voting. In 2033 he continued his winning ways, with a 2.03 ERA and 176 strikeouts, resulting in another All-Star Game trip and third place finish in 2033 GNL AA PCAL Outstanding Pitcher Award voting. César is clearly a man on the rise.
