2029 All-Star Game

#1 Post by Borealis »

The 2029 All-Star Game will be held as part of Thursday's sim and we will (plan on) have a live broadcast of the game right here in this thread!! We will have a special 4pm PT cut-off for exports so that I can do all the grunt work of setting up the All-Star teams. Game time is tentatively scheduled for 5pm PT/8pm ET. Come one, Come all - bring a beer, hot dog and those non-allergenic peanuts the scientists came up with back in 2022! This year's game will be played at Jurassic Park, as the Fargo Dinosaurs play host!

All-Star voting is still live, so get out and vote - note you can change your vote if you voted early and feel a need to re-evaluate your vote!!

The cut-off time for the vote will be 9pm PT/Midnight ET Tuesday night (August 20), with the All-Star rosters possibly posted later that evening...

The Chamber of Commerce and the Fargo Dinosaurs are prepping the city of Fargo for the 23rd PEBA All-Star Game! This year's game will be the first to be hosted by Fargo and is the 4th time the defending Rodriguez Cup holder has host the contest (2011 Charleston, 2014 Arlington, 2016 Gloucester). It is the third time the Great Lakes have welcomed PEBA's best to the Midsummer Classic.

Last season's game, an Imperial League 15-7 win at Frontier Park, New Orleans, gave the IL a 12-10 lead in the series. Games played at Sovereign League parks have been split 5-5.

PEBA All-Star 2029 SL.png
The Office of the Commissioner and Fargo and Sovereign League All-Star manager Kenny Butler are pleased to introduce the starting Line-up for tonights 2029 All-Star Game:

LF Clarence Carpenter - CL
CF Lorenzo 'Stocky' Castanieda - FAR
3B Guillermo Justavo – NT
1B Gustavo 'Bullets' Lopez - FAR
DH Rob Raines - FAR
C Steve McDonald - BAK
2B Errol Landry – SS
SS Teddy Loetzsch - AUR
RF Jerry Rutledge - OKA

Tonights starting pitcher is Fargo's own, Ernesto Molina.

This will be Molina's 4th All-Star game and his first start after an outstanding 2028 which culminated in Fargo's first Rodriguez Cup... Carpenter, in his first full year with the Sandgnats will be in his 5th All-Star game, after an appearance for Marseille, and three with Okinawa, he was the 2023 IL Wunderkind... 'Stocky' is a second-time All-Star, appearing last season, where he finished the year as the PEC MVP, hitting .280 with 7 RBI... Justavo has been a steady his entire career and is making his second All-Star appearance. He was the 2026 SL Divisional and Championship series MVPs... 'Bullets' will be performing in his 3rd straight All-Star game and his first as a starter... Steve McDonald is having his best season of his career, leading the Bears with a .298 - he is a first time All-Star... Errol Landry is also making his first All-Star Game, he's 3rd on the Evas with a .281... Teddy Loetzsch, also makings first All-Star game, is leading the Borealis with a .311 average - best of all shortstops - he holds the PEBA record for triples (16) and is pace to try that - currently with 8... Rutledge is making his 3rd All-Star appearance for Okinawa, starting tonights game in place of Fargo's Pat Watson, who is out with a sprained ankle...

Lastly, Rob Raines - enough said... The Office of the Commissioner is pleased to announce that this Iconic star and future Hall of Famer will start in front of the home town fans of Fargo, as a fitting tribute to his longevity. Bakersfield 1B/DH Alex 'Red Hook' Bothwell was more than happy to give the starters nod to the man who is just, literally, a handful of hits away from being the PEBA's first 3,000 hit man!

Should be quite a show for the hometown crowd in Fargo.

3 starting hitters, including the best hitter in PEBA history and the starting pitching isn't half bad.

And they barely missed having a FOURTH starter! A shame Pat Watson got injured when he did.

That is too bad. Having "Glass Mike Trout" in there would have been perfect for Fargo fans.

If only all baseball venues entertained us with such lovely, gentle music. I have to wear earplugs to some MLB stadia, the speakers blast nothing but loud and obnoxious noise, uh, songs, I think, others call them.
