In this episode, Ken and RJ talk all about the first two months of the season. If you like the episodes where Ken is exaspirated as he tries to make heads or tails about some weird statistical anomaly and breakout journeymen, then this should be a good episode for you. If you're not a big fan of that, then just listen to hear RJ.

You're damn straight the Bureaucrats are applying pressure to the Alleghenies. If there's one thing a bureaucrat is good at is ignoring any outside pressure and serving their own goal!Featherheads wrote:In this episode, Ken and RJ talk all about the first two months of the season. Re: PEBA-Cast Episode 11 - The Weirdness that is 2029
Love the podcasts... Eric Jacobs is with Scotland (I think you said BAK), and I'm not too sad to see him in the IL.
New Orleans 3B German Lima is a young guy who is breaking out this year. He already has 21 HR's after hitting just 3 last year (slightly less playing time, but still). The Trendsetters are 3rd in the IL in runs scored, after being 8th last year. It can't be fun to face Felix Zavala and Lima back to back.
People often look at BABIP for pitchers as it can indicate luck. It seems to correlate more with skill/speed in batters, but it does fluctuate for them, too. Case in point: Bob Vollmer. He's come down a bit since you recorded this, but his BABIP this year is .313 after never being above .247 in previous years.
The IL Wunderkind battle will be crazy this year... I don't think Lima qualifies, but Luis Bonilla as the 33 year old import is going to have some serious challengers, particularly from his fellow imports. WV's Manuel Gonzalez and SA's Ronald Turton have both been good. Kentucky's got Hung Bao and Ramon Gonzalez who both figure to be better than they've played. Those are just the imports... Luppe van Dam will obviously be in the group by the end of the year, too.

Really enjoyed the podcast. Thank you for introducing me to the concept of 'pre-draft grooming' These podcasts are so informative.
