London Minor League Hitter of the year: CF Rene Lems (A-AA)
Lems spent the majority of the season playing for single A Birmingham. In 322 plate appearances he batted .258, hit 15 home runs, and collected 50 RBI. He also was a threat on the basepaths, stealing 29 bases. He was also stellar in the field, with a fielding percentage of .996. All of this added up to a truly incredible WAR of 6.1 for Lems in Birmingham. Lems was called up to AA Liverpool late in the year but did not get a statistically significant amount of at bats.
Lems was selected to the 2028 North American Farm Team Affiliation All-Star Game and won the 2028 NAFTA A AWL Platinum Stick Award at CF.
London Minor League Pitcher of the year: SP Pete Blaquiere (SA-A)
Blaquiere spent most of the season in single A Birmingham, where he started 23 games, earning a 14-4 record. In 150.2 innings of work his ERA was 2.45, he struck out 153, and carried a WHIP below 1 (0.98). His WAR for Birmingham was 3.3. In October he was awarded the 2028 NAFTA A AWL Outstanding Pitcher Award.
Blaquiere also spent some time in seasonal A ball playing for Wasila. In 39.2 innings of work he carried an ERA of just 0.45 with an incredible 52 strikeouts. He was awarded an SS-A player of the week and player of the month award.
(Side note: Is this something I should be selecting in-game as well, or is this purely an out of game experience?)

In the past, these awards have been noted in game by the commish. Not sure if that is still the plan.Alleghenies wrote:All you have to do is select it out of game.Underground wrote: (Side note: Is this something I should be selecting in-game as well, or is this purely an out of game experience?)

Yes, it's strictly a forum deal, and yes, at times they've been added in to the histories - but VERY sporadically.. . I'll see what I (or the Board) can do. No promises...Evas wrote:In the past, these awards have been noted in game by the commish. Fargo 2028 Minor League Hitter of the Year: LF Benjamin Darke
Fargo 2028 Minor League Pitcher of the Year: SP Lateef Kamomba
Benjamin Darke, my 2026 1st round pick, advanced fairly quickly through the system prior to this season, making it all the way up to AAA by the start of this year. He managed 3.1 WAR, and did so in a balanced manner, collecting a +7.3 zone rating in RF (which he was playing predominately to develop his versatility as a corner OF), and hit for a 119 OPS+.
Lateef Kamomba, was a minor league free agent signing back in 2024 that has developed as a potential back of the rotation arm on the cusp of challenging for a spot in PEBA. In 20 starts at AAA he amassed a 3.3 WAR with 8.4 K/9, 1.5 BB/9, and 0.7 HR/9. He made six starts Fargo when the big league club was dealing with injuries in the rotation.

Aurora Announces 2028 Minor League Players of the Year
by Francis Ferry, NLN baseball beat writer
Jorge Sato was the Borealis' 7th round selection (200th overall) out of Central Florida in the 2024 draft. The 26-year old Wylie, TX native showed a decent swing and a potential for power in college. Sato was a USCBA All-star his senior year - hitting .324 with 10 HR. In his time with Aurora, he spent the last three years at SLRC, before being promoted to AA Gatineau. His home run totals have increase each season, hitting 26 this year while hitting .246. He was a Great North All-Star, Platinum Stick winner at 3B and finished second in the Outstanding Hitter voting.
Andres was a scouting discovery in February of 2023 and has turned in some excellent performances since he began his professional career His career record of 22-15, with a 1.94 ERA is highlighted by this years 1.53, with 131 K in 182.2 IP. He was named the BCL Pitcher of the Year this season for his efforts. Teamed with Henry Cluett, Canales may find him and Henry moving to Canada next season to join 2028 #1 pick Armando Batista with the Balloonists.

Re: 2028 Minor League Players of the Year
Palm Springs Minor League Player Awards 2028
Palm Springs' Minor League Hitter of the Year for 2028 is the same as for 2027: second baseman Pablo Ortíz. Only the second repeat winner in the history of Palm Springs' minor league awards (the other being a certain Felipe 'El Niño' Días), Ortíz drew attention in 2027 by shooting from A all the way to AAA at just age 20. He came into 2028 with high expectations, being ranked the number one prospect in all of PEBA--and delivered in a big way. At AAA Provo this year, he socked 20 home runs and stole 35 bases while helping the Missionaries to a Rocky Mountain League title, finishing second in 2028 GBB AAA RML Outstanding Hitter Award voting. This earned him a cup of coffee in Palm Springs at the end of the year, and it seems likely he will stick there when play opens in 2029.
Palm Springs' Minor League Pitcher of the Year for 2028, Ash Thompson, had a dominating age 21 season at High-A National City. The native of Fayetteville, Arkansas was selected by the Codgers in the fourth round of the 2025 amateur draft from Island High School. After getting a couple years of minor league seasoning under his belt, he broke out in 2028, racking up 120 strikeouts and a 2.49 ERA in 21 starts, leading the Bankers to another division title in the North American Farm Team Affiliation. It seems likely that Thompson (no relation to fellow 'Springs farmhand Bob Thompson) will continue his Codgers career in AA Edmonton next season, with a bright future ahead.

Yuma's 2028 Minor League players of the Year :
Minor League Hitter of the Year : CF Sung-oo Kim (AA)
Minor League Pitcher of the Year : SP Joe Arnold (AA)
While Kim only hit a modest .240, he played nearly every game, made 15 assists in the OF, and garnered 2.0 WAR, which amazingly was the best across all of the Yuma organization.
Arnold, on the other hand, had a brilliant season, winning 11, losing just 4 (no small feat with a losing club), and finishing with a 2.14 ERA.
