(To be sung to the tune of "Home on the Range")
Oh, give me a bat
A ball and a cap
A glove and an infielder’s sack
I’m yearning to hear
That sound so dear
When leather meets wood with a crack!
Home, home runs I adore
It’s baseball I’m longing to play
Where seldom is heard
The discouraging word
Of “football” on Super Bowl Day.
Oh, tailgating’s crap
I’d prefer a good nap
To all the scrimmaging they do
The ball’s meant to fly
Across the blue sky
To a kid who’s screaming “Yahoo!”
Home, home runs I adore
Double plays and no hitters too
When baseball’s the game
And old PEBA’s the name
Who needs Super Bowl’s hullabaloo?

Re: A Song for Today
I’ve never uttered Wahoo in my life. Do people say that? Yahoo was my fathers favorite exclamation when overjoyed. Also the name of the crude characters in Gulliver’s Travels. Bunch of yahoos hijacked it for an email name.
