A Note on Injuries
Injuries are, of course, a fact of life for contemporary sports franchises.
During the offseason I examined changing our injury setting to 'High (Realistic Modern Day)'. The thought being that changing this setting might enhance the realism of the baseball sim.
I didn't. The settings are still set at 'Normal (Ootp Classic)'. All such decisions I look at with an eye towards increasing the immersion, realism, and fun of the PEBA experience. Injuries pit two of these against each other. Realism is good, but injuries are almost universally a bummer. In the end, I came down on the side of fun, keeping the injuries at the current level for some realism, but not turning them up so high that team DLs fill up with broken players.

I think it was a good move, specially as we knew when we got to a newer version injuries pile up quite fast

If anything I'd say scale down - if the v18 injury stories are to be believed... but I'm glad it ain't worse...

Re: A Note on Injuries
Yeah I have noticed injuries in 18 much higher than in 17 by just simming through seasons myself.Borealis wrote:If anything I'd say scale down - if the v18 injury stories are to be believed... but I'm glad it ain't worse...

I'd see how this season goes but I'm definitely in favour of toning them down if the surge of injuries does arrive

Re: A Note on Injuries
I was wondering - is there someplace where we can see the number of days lost to injury for each team? Is there a historical archive of this?

I think I remember seeing a page like that in statslab? Have a hunt, I'm sure it's there

It is in stat lab some place. I remember studying it when I first joined the league.Borealis wrote:I was wondering - is there someplace where we can see the number of days lost to injury for each team? Is there a historical archive of this?

I found current injuries, but I'm looking for total days lost per team...

I'd also love to keep it at the classic OOTP level.
