Now if only the Cubs can end the longest curse in the game by edging the Giants for the pennant and then sweeping Detroit in the World Series, thereby bringing them full circle back to the last Series they won, 1908, against Detroit.

Problem #1 for the Cubbies: it's an even numbered year, and those Frisco Fellahs have a multi-year contract with the Fates for even year championships.

Some friends of ours are heading down to Phoenix to see the Cubs in Spring Training. So I'll put forth a 'Go Cubs' on their behalf!
