LET'S GO OLDSTERS: A Palm Springs Codgers Blog

Hello everyone and welcome to Let's Go Oldsters!

Let me introduce myself. My name is Alexander Wexler. I'm a longtime Palm Springs Codgers fan who noticed the dearth of online discussion fora for my favorite club--even the team itself has nothing but a near-moribund Facebook page--and so decided to start one of my own!

Let me be clear, I am not affiliated with the team in any way and have no inside sources of information--I'm a fan just like you, forced go by what I read in the Semaphore and other public sources. Fortunately, there is a lot of material out there to use for analysis and speculation about the Salmon and Green. I have a little bit of sabermetric background, which I became interested in after reading the book Moneyball way back when it came out, but I'm certainly no kind of expert. Maybe together we can discover some new truths about our favorite team.

I'm just pleased he found some clip art online so that his blog banner kind of matches the Codgers logo :D

Nothing better than a new Oldster blog. The Codgers have always been pretty good, it seems. But in the Desert Hills, pretty good doesn't really cut it. Will be interesting to see what the fans have to say.
