Fargo Dinosaurs News and Notes November 12th, 2025

#1 Post by Dinosaurs »

The Dinosaurs finished last in a very tough Great Lakes division this season (the Dinos being the only team with a below .500 record), but the team seems optimistic as they head into the offseason that last season was a step in the right direction. Despite a 74-88 record, the team's Pythagorean record was 82-80 with a +5 run differential. Considering the bullpen was 3rd in the SL in ERA, it is unlikely the disparity between actual record and Pythagorean record was due to poor bullpen management, and rather simply bad luck.

In his first full season, youngster CF Pat Watson (and likely face of the franchise going forward) Pat Watson had the 2nd highest WAR total in team history with a 7.2 WAR value, behind only slugging 1B Ramon Flores' 2010 season where Flores had a 7.5 WAR. Flores was 30 years old when he reached that 7.5 WAR (he also had 7 WAR the following season in 2011), while Watson is only 23 years old this season.

I'm not suggesting you do it, but I can't help but wonder what a player like that might fetch on the trade market.
