MOGADISHU – A ten-member taskforce will investigate the disappearance of Charles Dole, IV today, majority owner of the of Crystal Lake Sandgnats who went missing today, Somalia’s Attorney General confirmed.

In a statement, the office has appointed officials drawn from AG’s office, the police and National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).

The office directed the NISA agency to work with the appointed officials.

According to the statement, the family of Dole had lodged case at the country’s military court.

“The Office of the Prosecutor of the Armed Forces has accepted the opening of the case file submitted by the relatives of the missing PEBA owner, Charles Dole, IV,” the statement reads in part.

Ms. Dole, 51, disappeared on 11th of December fresh off a trip from Yuma with PEBA owner Taffy Slummings touring a water treatment facility.

He was reportedly last seen as he boarded an unidentified car from his home near the Chrystal Lake headquarters in Mogadishu. Dole was in town for the Rookie League Championship parade scheduled to take place the next day.

Dole’s son Charles V claims that his father had received a call on his cell phone before he left and boarded a car outside his home at about 8 pm local time on the fateful night.

Early this month, Two-time director-general of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) Abdullahi Ali Sanbalolshe Jr. said Mr. Dole may be in possession of a list of Somali youth who were clandestinely sent to Eritrea for supposed water purification training.

“Some people told me that he has the record of the engineers who were being sent to Eritrea. There could also be other sensitive information that he was in possession,” Sanbalolshe said. He confirmed that he recruited the Dole during his tenure at the agency.

Little known about Dole is his dedication to serving the Somali community.

Many from Somalia had arrived into the Crystal Lake area decades ago to escape a deadly civil war in Somalia. They also fled the discrimination and displacement they experienced as Somali Bantu, a group of marginalized tribes that consist mostly of Indigenous farmers and descendants of slaves taken from eastern and southern Africa in the 19th century.

The United States chose to resettle an estimated 12,000 Somali Bantu refugees in the early 2000s, granting them special status as persecuted minorities.

When the opportunity arrived for Dole to establish baseball in Somalia he jumped the chance to bridge the gap between a community he cared deeply for and their original country.

Not without his detractors many are suspect political revenge could be the motive behind Dole’s disappearance.

Somali businessmen have also announced that they are working to find the Dole and have joined the case with the authorities to investigate the incident.

Taffy Slummings nor Megan Ellison could be reached for comment.

The Crystal Lake Sandgnat board is scheduled to meet tomorrow for an emergency session to discuss leadership issues in light of Dole’s absence.
