Always tough to let go of those old warhorses after so many campaigns. After so many seasons in tis league I still haven't figured out at what age guys really start to taper off but it looks like these guys were ripe for the pastures. $50 mil freed up? Zoiks Scoo! That's nearly half our budget. Should be a good year for free agents.

Exactly, it might be justified to lock into an expensive risky deal with an older player if that's one or two of the missing pieces, but three.. It would just be too risky and sacrifice too much of the future to dump that much cash away. Yes, 50 million.... That's a lot of pineapples from Mr. Dole (our owner).
