Shin Seiki left-hander Kyoichi Yoshimura shut down the Sandgnats allowing only 3 hits and no runs at Ellison Field at Dole Park in game one. With game time weather conditions of partly cloudy and 34 degrees with wind blowing out to right at 12 mph, runs were few and far between for game one. In the top of the 7th inning with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Benton Hawkins hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 3-0, in favor of the Evas. The Sandgnat offense stayed frozen and the game ended with a score 3-0.
Game two began with clear skies and 38 degrees with wind blowing in from center at 9 mph. It took 10 innings for the Sandgnats to defeat the Shin Seiki Evas by a final score of 5-4 today. Ricardo Longoria was he was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With two out, Longoria hit a fastball from Shunsen Ueda for a solo home run in dramatic fashion for the walk-off win.
The Sandgnats will head to Genesis Park for the next 3 games where with a closed roof temperatures are certain to be quite warmer.

Game 2 was a missed opportunity for SS that CL jumped all over.
Things are setup for a good home stand for us. I think we have the SP edge in game 3, 4 is a toss up and facing Corona in SS in game could make a difference.
I'm chomping at the bit for the next sim.

Zoom Zoom did well against us back in April with one run allowed over 7.1 inning. And might I add that is a generously good contract for you for that type of player given his high greed level! He's on quite the hot streak right now. I can only hope game 3 breaks it. Game 4 looks like our best chance to steal one away. Game 5 will be another battle from two star players. Bringing Yoshimura on board at the deadline was a great move.
Your strong lefty's present a mismatch for the number one scoring offense. CL will live and/or die by the home run in this series.
