Crystal Lake pubs will remain open late or early depending on your drinking preference as the Divisional Playoffs begin with a 4:05am Central Time start at Toyama. Taking the mound will be Starting Pitcher Manuel Corona who returns after being out since late July with elbow inflammation. A few days short of his 35th birthday he credits new trainer Tokimasa Ojima helping him get back in time for the playoffs. A positive mood in the clubhouse has begun to flourish knowing their "Mayor" is back to lead the way.

After suffering a 4 game sweep at the hands of Toyama last month, the Sandgnats are happy to also have All-star pitcher Alfredo Velázquez back on the mound for game 2 also a 4:05am start. I fully expect the Crystal Lake rush-hour to work to be lighter than normal given an early/late night away game on Thursday/Friday this week. Quite a few people might be calling out 'sick' this week. Crowd favorite lefty Francisco 'Yogi' Robles is also ready and stocked up with grape Gatorade for playoff redemption.

After putting up the most runs in the Sovereign League this year its good to have Crystal Lake's most experienced pitchers back in time for the playoffs. One can only hope the long layoff will not hamper their returns. Like Yogi says, "I love the grape G Series, sports science innovation, nutritional information to help you win from within."
