With the recent firing of trainer, Annan Mathaathi our attention turns to the disastrous disabled list that led to a 11-15 July with Crystal Lake's division lead sinking to 2.5 games over Duluth.

The Mayor, Manuel Corona is gone for the season with elbow inflamation. Also, Alfredo Velazquez is effectively out for the season with recurring back spasms. With CL's top two pitchers gone for the remainder of the season attention now turns to young leader SP Dave Jones, and recently added SP Tatsui Kouno to lead Crystal Lake the remainder of the season.

Star right fielder and team leader Jerry Long will be returning from a fractured finger in approximately 2 weeks. Left fielder Raul Uribe will be returning to head to a rehab stint in approximately 3 weeks after partially tearing his labrum earlier this season. However, CF Jeffery Wolfe suffered a setback in his injury rehab and is out for another 2 months effectively ending his 2024 season. Rumor has it that this led to Mathaathi's firing. Left fielder Enrique Heredia is still going to be out about 3 to 4 weeks out from returning from an oblique strain.

The infield also did not escape from the injury bug as first baseman Wilson Munoz is set to return this week after a week on the DL. SS Juan Hernandez is out 5-6 weeks with a hip strain and 3B Josh Shafer is out one week with an undisclosed injury.

Former star prospect reliever Enrique Fonseca is set to return this week for a 30 days rehab stint in AAA after suffering a torn labrum that ended his 2023 season.

Of note is that new trainer Tokimasa Ojima has lifted the ban on grape Gatorade in the club house. He stated, "Anything that works would be welcome." when asked about how he plans to get these players back from the convalescent home to the clubhouse.

Injuries are always a bugger to manage. Nice to see grape gatorade making a return!
