London, England - A social media marketing blitz to send Underground reliever Yasutoki Ine to the 2029 PEBA All Star Game has paid off. Ine's name was one of those called by IL All-Star manager Salvador Gonzalez on Tuesday. The London marketing department had hit social media with multiple hashtag campaigns including #VoteforIne and #VotehimIne. While the marketing team pats itself on the back for what they believe was a successful bit of voter tampering, Ine's performance this season speaks for itself. Ine started the season off as the setup man before taking over closer duties from the dramatically overpaid Jorge Nunez. Ine has appeared in 33 games, pitching 34.2 innings during which he has an ERA of just 1.56 to go along with a 3-2 record. At the ripe old age of 34 years old he still regularly hits the high 90's on the gun and is striking out 10.38 batters per 9 innings pitched.

This will be Ine's third all star game appearance. He first appeared in his first season in the PEBA (2021) as a member of the Dayton Flyers (now Scottish Claymores). His next appearance was in 2026 as a member of the San Antonio Calzones. Ine's career began in the LRS in 2017 where he played for the Fushigi Yugi. He would pitch for the Yugi until the LRS merged into the PEBA.

London signed Ine this offseason as a bit of a reclamation project. The reliever had had a down year in 2028, the first of his career in which he earned a negative WAR. He was released in August by Crystal Lake with a 4.23 ERA and a -0.9 WAR. Reno scooped him up for the remainder of the season, during which time he showed signs of his old self - allowing 0 runs and just 2 hits in 7.1 innings of work. London spent the offseason looking for potentially cheap assets that had high return on investment potential. At less than $2,000,000 this year, Ine has certainly proven himself worthy of consideration by the league again. Oh, and have we mentioned he is on the trade block?

Thanks a lot Ine... Was happy to take our money... and give us nothing in return.
