Win some lose some

#1 Post by Leones »

The club managed to maintain it’s division lead this week but it’s going to be tough to hold on to it. Injuries have decimated the outfield.

LF Hiroshige Takeda wound up on the 15 day DL with a herniated disc in his neck. The club is expecting him back in roughly two weeks.

CF António Berroa suffered a strained oblique and joins Takeda on the 15 day DL. He’s expected to be out a little longer, perhaps 3 weeks.

CF Ronald McCall sprained an elbow is also riding the pine for two weeks or so.

In return the club got LF Rod Martin back from the DL. Leaving him and RF Motoki Suzuki to cover the outfield duties. Not exactly the cavalry coming over the hill. Obviously they were going to need some help.

From AAA affiliate Camaguey, CF Dave Hobbs got the call to take over in the middle. The club is expected to try and go with just these 3 guys for a week while they scramble to try and find some other help until the regulars return.

Yeah it's tough when injuries hit all at once like that, patching with minor leaguers that may not really be ready etc... Though Hobbs looks like he shouldn't embarrass himself out there in center for a short stint, decent depth option.
