Trade between ARL and YUM

#1 Post by DanD »

Yuma Receives:
SP Félix Ortega
1B Rod Johnson
Reno's 2nd Round Pick

Arlington Receives
SP Tsuramatsu Ito
Yuma's 1st Round Pick
Crystal Lake's 1st Round Pick
Gloucester's 2nd Round Pick

It hurts to give up two of Arlington's three exciting players, but I agree with Frank (and most people in that thread) that 'Crats aren't going anywhere for a while. This will definitely push out the Bureaucrats timeline a bit, but I would like to build something more sustainable.

I'm excited for the 'Dozers this season! I think they are going to be pretty darn good.

Yuma confirms.

This trade was difficult. For 7 years Yuma has collected draft picks and for the first time we are trading them away. Ouch! What does it mean? Maybe that crafty GM has a plan, when he's not doped up from the latest shock therapy, and he sees Yuma becoming competitive in the very near future.

NAH! It's YUMA, the Loss Capitol of the PEBA!

Gotta be something else going on down there in the desert.

I like this trade on a few levels, but I do wonder if electroshock therapy has caused some confusion in Yuma as to which direction the loss column should be heading.

Yuma Assignments:

Please replace Ito with Ortega in the rotation. And insert Johnson into the backup 1b position I've left open for him.

Thank you!

This is a super-interesting, super-surprising trade. I'm thinking I may have to re-look at my predictions for the year. The Desert Hills is really shaping up to be a slugfest this season. Can't wait to see how it all turns out starting tonight.

Some good guys going Yuma's way, and I think I might have to rethink my predictions as well! Also happy to see Dan make the executive decision to go full rebuild and start up long term again ;-D

This really is an announcement by both the involved franchises. It's the kind of trade that you're going to want to look back on five seasons down the line and ask, "Was this the moment that the team's fortune's turned?" This is going to be a deal to remember.

I like this trade for both teams. Yuma gets some proven PEBA talent and Arlington gets (back) a good looking pitching prospect and some high draft picks. I'm also liking what's happening in Yuma. Are they this year's Reno?

Agreeing with others. I think this deal is great on both fronts. Arlington gets a jumpstart in the rebuilding process whereas Yuma finally starts to acquire present talent rather than future talent. I'm really excited to see Bob bring in some talent that can contribute this season. Ortega brings a veteran presence to a young, inexperienced club.
