Trade between CST and OMA

#1 Post by James Bowman »

Charleston receives:

SP António Rivera
SS Stan Robinson (AA)
3B Shimei Horano (A)
Omaha's 7th round pick in the 2018 PEBA Draft

Omaha receives

SP Dean O'Monahan

Rivera takes over O'Manahan's spot in the rotation. Robinson and Horano go to Charleston's AA and A minor league teams, respectively.

Assuming Fate waives his no trade clause, we approve this deal.

Please place him in Crayon Rivera's spot in the rotation.

And there it is!

I guess Robinson is the key player to this deal going forward.

This will be a good move for Omaha if it sticks. I assume it won't, but maybe that is just the cynic in me.

If Dean accepts the trade, I think it solidifies our rotation for sure.

I think the direction Charleston is going is cutting salary and rebuilding. This deal potentially gets Fate off the books from 2019-2021. We obviously have the space next year to take this contract on, even if he ends up only being a #3 or #4 guy.

They have McCullough on the block as well, who has taken some serious steps back. It may take an incentive to get that contract off the books.

I don't have any inside information on whether "Fate" will waive his 10/5 veto rights, but I would always encourage GMs who have agreed upon a trade involving a player who has 10/5 veto rights to PM the simmer before posting it in the Completed Trades forum. It can avoid unwanted surprises!
