The Bureaucrat's Triplicate: Pre-Spring Training Edition

#1 Post by Bureaucrats »

Well folks! It's that time of year again! The coming of Spring and all the baseball hopes and dreams that come with it. We here at the Bureaucrat's Triplicate like to make various predictions for our 'Crats!

Optimistic Prediction: 90-72

With a 74-88 season last year, the only way out is up! The Front Office has made various moves to try and improve the roster and we look forward to their production. The addition of Shigekazu Shimuzi looks promising, as he has a career .245/.319/.362 slashline and 22.6 WAR in 9 seasons. Our youngsters too should produce, and Yoriie Oka headlines the newbies. The rise of Torcall Penrose should lead to a promising pitcher.

Realistic Prediction: 72-90

Last year's season was a sign of things to come. Marvin Hansen, though he is gone, had a down year. Motoyuki Hatsutori had an injury shortened season, and it seriously hurt our boys. Sure, Darren Jackson helped with a good season, but is it an aberration? And sometimes, prospects don't develop. Can we expect Penrose and Oka to carry the rookie class? Only time will tell.

Pessimistic Prediction: 66-96

It was a miracle that we weren't 4th last year. This season is not going to be any different, but worse. Our players get older, and with age, regression. We are doomed.

This has been the Bureaucrat's Triplicate Pre-Spring Training Predictions!
