A new season brings new hopes and a look to the future!

The 2029 season in now upon us, and the Bureaucrats look as ready as ever to snatch the Championship for themselves. While we may have lost some fan favorites and key players, the gains outweigh the losses. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the hot players and hot prospects that we can expect to perform this season.

C Marvin Hansen

Hansen had an absolute career year in 2028, posting a .323/.353/.486/.839 line with 20 homeruns and 73 RBI with a career high 6.1 WAR. Those numbers were good enough to make him 3rd in Batting Average, 4th in Slugging %, 7th in OPS, and 8th in WAR. Evidently the backbone of this lineup, there are some concerns about regression, but Hansen looks like he’ll keep the pace and be an elite hitter for seasons to come.

1B Chae-Ku Yi

One of the many offseason acquisitions, Yi proved a valuable asset, hitting a .256/.328/.459/.787 line with 31 Home runs and 89 RBIs and a 3.0 WAR. With an astonishing 20.7 plate appearances per homerun, Yi’s power is a welcome component for the long ball.

RF Rob Davidson

Another power bat in the lineup, Davidson put up an All-Star caliber 2nd season with a respectable .283/.330/.470/.800 line with 28 homeruns, 82 RBIs and a 4.8 WAR. A relative newcomer to the league Davidson could potentially establish himself this season as one of the elite outfielders in the league.

SP Santiago Garcia

Though a bit of a down year, Garcia is still one the best pitchers on the ‘Crats. Throwing a 4.25 ERA/1.15 WHIP/2.44 K/BB, Garcia regressed from his previous years that much is clear. But, every pitcher has a down year, and we expect him to turn it around and show the pitcher we all know he can be.

SP Motoyuki Hatsutori

Hatsutori is the undisputed ace of the ‘Crats, period. Even though it was his worse year yet, he still put up a commanding 2.80 ERA/1.04 WHIP/ 3.80 K/BB, 152 K’s and 40 BB’s. The ‘Crats have him under team control for a few more years, and we can expect him to perform as we know he has since his introduction to the league.
SP Darren Jackson

Posting a career best ERA of 3.21 with a record of 5-8, Jackson is a key piece to the middle of the rotation. The former 1st round pick has proved his mettle in 2028 and perhaps he can continue to improve heading into the 2029 season. Hopes are especially high, due to his K/BB of 3.27.

SP Roberto Camacho

Another middle rotation piece, Camacho holds his own with a 3.65 ERA and a 9-10 record. Though his K/BB is the lowest of the rotation at 1.63, he can still keep the offense at bay with a Groundball % of 56.0.

RP Christian George

One of the few offseason pieces acquired in an attempt to allow the farm to come through, George is a solid reliever, putting up a 2.55 ERA in 81.3 innings pitched. With a K/BB of 2.33, he can be an essential bullpen piece that the team desperately needs.

SPs Je-Ju O, Sandy Garza, Yo Tomita, Robert Thomas, Torcall Penrose

These prospects are the future of the rotation, and the recent drafting of Torcall Penrose has so far been a success, post a 2.95 ERA in relief in AAA they should make an appearance sometime this season, and they are anticipated with excitement and hope.

The 2029 season is upon us, and we are fully ready for what it brings. Play Ball!

Hansen looks like a long-term stud. You also have guys that I think can produce at a higher level, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they do. Best of luck in '29!

Sean Peters has been mashing for you! When Hansen returns to form, that's going to be a very solid 1-2 punch in the middle of the 'crats lineup.
