You're probably right. I'll call the hotline folks and make that suggestion. The Chief of Police has already announced a midnight curfew for the local bars. He's hoping to avoid the rioting that past victories have resulted in.

I’m trying to picture a riot in Yuma ... the two words don’t go together easily.

I like to imagine driving along I10, pulling off the interstate for gas, and entering this strange town in the Sonora Desert, where gas station only sells Yuma water and everyone stares blankly at you

Coming out to pitch the 4th is Joe Santons of the Akira and he'll face Garza, Zavala and Lima here in the 4th...

After working the count full, Garza bounces one to Landry for out #1...

Zavala steps in... a vicious swing, fouled back.... ball high and away... another vicious swing - he's trying to change the score, but this one lined to the left side, foul... but with the fourth pitch of the at bat, he hits a one hopper between first and second for a single...

With his teammate aboard, German Lima is hoping to do something, but a big swing brings only warning track power as 'Stocky' tracks it down at the wall...

Santos ends the threat as he blows a full count fastball past Roberto Garcia to end the inning...

Heading to the B4... tied at 2...

But look vaguely suicidal at the thought of turning a profit on the gas ...

Here's the link to one of several articles about rioting in Yuma:

But still, we must do what we must do.

Unofficially, Yuma has arranged to trade Campos to Amsterdam, where his success will lead to fewer deaths, we hope.

Changes abound for the IL as ‘Blueprint’ Gonzales comes on to pitch… Orlando Barron, the Scottish 1B takes over at first, Kentucky infielder Elichi Memoto takes over for Cuevas and Manchester OF Jimmy Hudson comes in for Garcia…

Gustavo Lopez rudely gets Gonzales by lacing a ball into the left-center gap for a stand-up double...

That brings up Rob Raines with a runner in scoring position... with he count 2-1 he swings - foul... Foul... and then he stands there, obviously looking for another pitch and watches strike three down the middle of the plate...

Gonzales is looking sharper as he dispatches McDonald on three pitches, a nasty heater on the outside corner leaves the Bear flailing...

Errol Landry looking to get the go ahead run in swings - and dumps it infant of the plate - Jack Hudson bounces, throws to first, and the inning is over...

After 4, still tied...

Just coronaries for Lions fans who don’t know what to make of a new All-Star pitcher. This could be an international incident, Bob.

Better it be dealt with by Interpol than the Yuma Sheriff.

Changes abound for the SL as we move into the 5th... 'Nitro' takes the mound and will be throwing to his Crystal lake battery mate, Tony Parker... Alex Bothwell will replace Rains at DH, Aurora 2B Derrick Dwyer will replace Landry at 2B and Neo-Tokyo star 'Skip' Grier will take over for Clarence Carpenter...

Jack Hudson, who's great play in the bottom of the 4th ended the inning, leads off in the 5th and grounds it to Justavo for out #1...

Kentucky infielder Elichi Memoto works a full count before rolling one up the middle - a hard turn forces Castanieda to hustle in - and he over runs the ball!! Allowing Memoto to take second - that's the first error of the game...

Dave Hurley takes the plate - the Havana 2B with a runner in scoring position, but he hits a hard, 1-hopper back at the pitcher - 'Nitro' checks the runner and gets the out at first...

Danny Burton, probably his last AB - over eager and grounds it in the hole at short - but it's an easy play for Justavo - inning over...

Going to the B5, still 2-2

The sub action is hot and heavy for the IL, as Calzone Richard Neely comes on to pitch the 5th, throwing to San Juan's Jesus Negrete...Flint Powell is in the lineup - as is Sean Peters for Burton and Hinojosa for Garcia...

Neely faces Loetzsch to lead off the 5th... Neely works Loetzsch - in-out of the zone, but Teddy grounds a full-count pitch through the hot and into left field for a single...

Jerry Rutledge looks bewilderingly at the 3B coach, turns and squares and bunts it right back to Neely, who turns, fires to second for the force...

Jeff Grier, of the Akira, getting his first action tonight, swings at 5 pitches - misses two, fouls off two... and grounds a 101 mph fastball to 3rd Shuji Kawamoto - Charleston's lone All-Star, fields - to second one, on to first - TWO! A double play!!

Heading to the 6th... still 2-2

Palm Springs Codgers starter Edgardo Guerra comes on for the 6th, and joining him is Badger Ruben Jimenez in CF, Evas Harley Schneider at 3B, Okinawa's Roberto Diaz at short and Reno's Steve Boyer in RF...

Guerra wastes no time and looks sharp in dispatching the IL:

Butler grounds out to Dwyer at second...

Hinojosa takes two called strikes - nasty pitches, and then swings and misses for strike three...

Orlando Barron isn't any better at solving Palm Springs big international FA - as he, too, swings at strike three...

Off to the B6...
