Melvin McNeal of Hartford comes on for the IL, with Raul Garcia running out to take Butlers spot in the outfield...

Kalamazoo's Jimenez grounds a 1-2 pitch to Kawamoto for the first out...

That brings up Shin Seiki's Harley Schneider, and lifts a 1-2 pitch into RF, but this one falls for a base hit...

That brings up Lopez - his last AB for sure, and the fans know it as the give him a rousing applause, before he hits into a 6-4-3 double play to end the 6th...

And as the game moves onto the 7th, it's still 2-2

Duluth's Geoff Lawson comes on to pitch in the 7th, with the Evas Andres Hernandez taking over at first...

Things don't look good for Lawson and the Statesmen Kawamoto lines a 2-1 pitch into the right-center gap and he steams into second with a double...

Manchester Jimmy Hudson lofts the first pitch he sees down the left field line, and it plops in for a single - Kawamoto stops at third...

That brings up Jesus Negrete, but he looks over matched swinging at strike three - 1-down...

That brings up Memoto - as the IL looks for the little guys to break the ice - but he hits one sharply to Dwyer - to second for one - on to first DOUBLE PLAY! The side is retired!!

And as the fans stretch... it's SL 2, IL 2...

London's Yasutoki Ine, who benefited from the club's massive social media campaign, comes on to face Bothwell, Parker and Dwyer...

Bothwell lines the ball up the middle for a lead-off single...

Tony Parker follow's that up with a walk, moving Bothwell to second...

Dwyer walks on 4-pitches - Ine has missed with 8 of 9 pitches... The bases are loaded and no outs...

Okinawa's Roberto Diaz comes to the plate, with the infield playing halfway, and he grounds it up the middle - but Memoto grabs it and turns the double play - but Bothwell scores the go ahead run...

Out comes the manager and in comes Takahiro Takaki to face Reno's Steve Boyer...

Boyer greets Takaki with a hard hit ball up the middle - it's a base hit, Parker comes in and it's a 4-2 SL lead...

Jeff Grier comes up and he laces a ball down the line, Raul Garcia picks it up... Boyer is challenging him... the throw... the slide... SAFE!!

It's falling apart for the IL as Takaki walks Ruben Jimenz - something you don't want to do infant of Schneider...

Harley hits it square on the nose, but right at Sean Peters…

But the SL has taken the 4-2 lead as we head into the 8th…

'Tapper' Gonzalez of Neo-Tokyo comes on to start the 8th, with Canton's Harry Hutchins coming in to replace Boyer...

Dave Hurley leads of for the IL and 'Tapper' does exactly what you don't want - walks the leadoff hitter...

Sean Peters comes up with a chance to tie it and he wastes no time, swinging at the first pitch - BOOM! He hits it HIGH... He hits it DEEP... Hutchins at the wall... AND HE MAKES THE CATCH!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!

With that, the Sovereign League manager wastes no time and brings in Aurora's former-closer, John Gray...

And no time is wasted as Raul Garcia swings and bounces the first pitch to Schneider and he starts the around the horn 5-4-3 double play, and with that, the side is retired!!

Off to B8, 4-2 SL...

Takaki comes out for the 8th...

Andres Hernandez takes strike three looking... and that brings out the IL manager and 'Pappy' Fisher of the Scottish comes out to face Bothwell...

Andres Hernandez takes strike three looking... and that brings out the IL manager and 'Pappy' Fisher of the Scottish comes out to face Bothwell...

Bothwell greets 'Pappy' with a single...

Tony Parker chokes up on a 1-2 pitch and he TURNS on it delivering it 402 feet out into left-center! A 2-run bomb and its 6-2!!

Edison Terry lifts a lazy fly to left... and Roberto Diaz takes a called strike three... but the damage is done!

Heading to the top of the 9th... The fans are rising as Evan Humphry's is coming in from the 'pen... 6-2 SL...

Humphrys comes on in the 9th and immediately walks Florida's Alfredo Hinojosa...

That brings up Orlando Barron, who watches a wild pitch get by Parker and Hinojosa moves to second...

And with that Humphrys walks Barron...

He gets Kawamoto to swing at strike three... as Bob Burns heats up in the 'pen...

Humphrys looks a tad amped up as he walks Hudson - loading the bases - and looks more perturbed as his own manager walks out and signals for Burns...

Jesus Negrete - the former Aurora catcher, greets the current Aurora closer with single through the right side - Hinojosa scores, it's 6-3 and the bases are still loaded...

Elichi Memoto comes to the plate and grounds one to Schneider - a tailor-made double play ball... AND SCHNEIDER BOTCHES IT!!! Barron scores, it's 6-4 and the bases are still loaded...

Burns is furious...

But Harley redeems himself as Dave Hurley - swinging for the fences, pops it up to third for the second out... Leaving the IL fates in the hands of Sean Peters…

And Peters swings at a 2-2 pitch and misses - and the Sovereign League wins!!!

The final numbers: The SL 6 R on 9 H and 2 E… The IL 4 R on 8 H and 0 E…

The winning pitcher is Geoff Lawson, with the save to Bob Burns.... the loss dos to Yasutoki Ine...

The time of the game was 3:15 in front of a sell-out crowd of 65,000...

The All-Star MVP for 2029 is…

Crystal Lake’s Tony Parker, who was 1-1 with a walk, scored 2-runs and had the decisive 2-run homer…

Mike - Borealis [5:22 PM]
And with that ladies and gentlemen, the Sovereign League takes the field, lead by Fargo SP Ernesto Molina...

Drew-Warriors [5:23 PM]
wooohoooo!

Patience not one of Honma’s virtues ...

Greg - Alleghenies [5:23 PM]
Raùl steals first!!

Mike - Borealis [5:24 PM]
Confusion reigns amongst the crowd as London SS Tony Cuevas strides to the plate in an obvious last second switch... and on a 22 pitch, he strikes out swinging...

Drew-Warriors [5:27 PM]
lmao

Vic (Claymores) [5:27 PM]
But why are they all players from the Sun and Surf Amalgamation?

Mike - Borealis [5:27 PM]
DH Vincent Powell steps to the plate and after fouling off a 1-0 pitch, he hits one HIGH...
hits it DEEP...
It’s OUTTA HERE!!! 2-0 IL here in the top of the first...

Drew-Warriors [5:28 PM]

Mike - Borealis [5:29 PM]

Vic (Claymores) [5:29 PM]
But the damage was done ...

Mike - Borealis [5:30 PM]
Can’t keep those guys straight…

Justin - Bureaucrats [5:30 PM]
What'd I do? I'm lost @Dan - Bears
Ah, now I see it

Drew-Warriors [5:31 PM]
Well that's the first and last time we let an IL scrub homer on us

Dan - Bears [5:31 PM]
You've been accused of paying my catcher to take out Garcia when he tries to steal home.

Greg - Alleghenies [5:32 PM]
Except my manager as hidden Garcia

Dan - Bears [5:32 PM]
I feel like I've paid him well enough though

Justin - Bureaucrats [5:32 PM]
Hahaha

Mike - Borealis [5:32 PM]
‘Old Nick’ runs to the mound to start the bottom of the first, the Havana Star looking sharp with his warm-up pitches...

Crystal Lakes LF Clarence Carpenter leads off for the SL and on a 1-2 pitch he lifts a ball to CF Roberto Garcia and he grabs it for the first out...

Justin - Bureaucrats [5:33 PM]
It's funny @Dan - Bears cuz I can't even afford a $1 bribe

Dan - Bears [5:33 PM]
The check bounced :upside_down_face:

Drew-Warriors [5:33 PM]
Bribe in the form of taking on debt. i.e. "The Duluth Maneuver"

Mike - Borealis [5:34 PM]
Fargo’s Lorenzo Castanieda gets a rousing ovation as he comes to the plate, and he takes a 3-2 pitch and lines one to center, but Garcia is their for the out...
Guillermo Justavo, the Neo-Tokyo 3B comes to bat and he doesn’t take the bat off his shoulder as Vasquez can’t find the strike zone and walks him on 4-pitches...

Vic (Claymores) [5:36 PM]
He never does that when he’s pitching against Scotland, damn it ...

Drew-Warriors [5:36 PM]
Must be that Dakota humidity

Greg - Alleghenies [5:36 PM]
That's strange, Jim never has a second cup of coffee at home.

Mike - Borealis [5:37 PM]
The Fargo Love continues, as ‘Bullets’ Lopez comes to the plate... ‘Old Nick’ brings a 96 MPH Fastball, and Lopez turns on it...
he hits it Far...
he hits it Deep...
GONE over the left field wall! A 2-run homer and this game is tied!!

Justin - Bureaucrats [5:37 PM]
Oooh

Greg - Alleghenies [5:37 PM]
Game is rigged!!

Vic (Claymores) [5:38 PM]
That’s suspicious!

Drew-Warriors [5:38 PM]
Further and harder than Powell's I imagine

Mike - Borealis [5:38 PM]
Rob Raines comes to the plate and the crowd rises yet again...

Justin - Bureaucrats [5:38 PM]
Perhaps this will mentally affect him in the year against me

Mike - Borealis [5:59 PM]
Striding to the mound - throwing a bottle of water aside before he crosses the foul line, is Yuma starter Jose Campos, to face the 2-3-4 hitters in the IL line-up...

Vic (Claymores) [5:59 PM]
Meanwhile, over in the Forum, Bob has written a song about the first inning.

Drew-Warriors [6:00 PM]
I love PEBA

OUT! McDonald nips Burton at first, thanks to a nifty stretch by Lopez...

Dan - Bears [6:02 PM]
Oh, Steven

Mike - Borealis [6:03 PM]
That brings to the plate Vincent Powell, who grounds his second pitch back to Campos for the easy play at first...

After two-and-a-half, it’s still 2-2...
Great job by the Yuma pitcher!

Vic (Claymores) [6:04 PM]
Hey, maybe I can dock that grounder from his extension $$ ...

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [6:05 PM]

Mike - Borealis [6:05 PM]
(MAN… Head is spinning… PHEW… but that was Medina last inning for the IL… NOW it’ll be Kang…)

Drew-Warriors [6:06 PM]
Does PEBA have a Ford C. Frick Award? because Mike should get one

Vic (Claymores) [6:07 PM]
Mike, you’ve gotta lay off the Yuma water between innings.

Mike - Borealis [6:07 PM]
Dave Hurley comes in as the first sub of the game, replacing Cuevas, with Homna moving to short....
Carpenter to face Kang to start the bottom of the third, and the Trendsetter starter blows the ball past Clarence, who swings and misses at three pitches for a strikeout...
Castanieda takes a ball and a strike, but is way ahead of an 86 mph change, and hits a soft liner right at Lima for out #2...
Justavo wastes no time trying to get the SL the lead, but only lofts a short flyable to right, with Powell making the play... Inning over... 3-up, 3-down...

After 3, 2-2...

Drew-Warriors [6:13 PM]
Hmm, score should be at least 20 to 0 by now. Maybe the league file is corrupted?

Kevin - Evas [6:13 PM]
We might need a re-sim

Dan - Bears [6:13 PM]
No Bothwell yet

Justin - Bureaucrats [6:14 PM]
I think Mike has done at least 3 sims

Mike - Borealis [6:15 PM]
Coming out to pitch the 4th is Joe Santons of the Akira and he’ll face Garza, Zavala and Lima here in the 4th...

Drew-Warriors [6:15 PM]
No WV pitching injuries yet either which is weird

Justin - Bureaucrats [6:16 PM]
Give it time

Mike - Borealis [6:17 PM]
After working the count full, Garza bounces one to Landry for out #1...

Zavala steps in... a vicious swing, fouled back.... ball high and away... another vicious swing - he’s trying to change the score, but this one lined to the left side, foul... but with the fourth pitch of the at bat, he hits a one hopper between first and second for a single...
With his teammate aboard, German Lima is hoping to do something, but a big swing brings only warning track power as ‘Stocky’ tracks it down at the wall...

Justin - Bureaucrats [6:20 PM]
Almost read that as ligma and got concerned I was being trolled

Mike - Borealis [6:20 PM]
Santos ends the threat as he blows a full count fastball past Roberto Garcia to end the inning...

Heading to the B4... tied at 2...

Drew-Warriors [6:21 PM]
:the_horns:

Mike - Borealis [6:21 PM]
Was there a call for an Alleghanie pitcher??

Greg - Alleghenies [6:21 PM]
Nope

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [6:24 PM]
GIVE US A WV HURLER

Mike - Borealis [6:24 PM]
Changes abound for the IL as ‘Blueprint’ Gonzales comes on to pitch… Orlando Barron, the Scottish 1B takes over at first, Kentucky infielder Elichi Memoto takes over for Cuevas and Manchester OF Jimmy Hudson comes in for Garcia…

Drew-Warriors [6:25 PM]
(Mike moves the injury slider all the way over) (edited)

Vic (Claymores) [6:26 PM]
Don’t watch, Greg ...

Mike - Borealis [6:26 PM]
Gustavo Lopez rudely gets Gonzales by lacing a ball into the left-center gap for a stand-up double...
(only for Bears and Evil Evas, Drew)…

Dan - Bears [6:26 PM]
Gonzales suffers a brain aneurysm

Drew-Warriors [6:26 PM]
dies on the mound

Vic (Claymores) [6:27 PM]
Buried in the on deck circle

Dan - Bears [6:27 PM]
Game continues

Mike - Borealis [6:28 PM]
That brings up Rob Raines with a runner in scoring position...

Dan - Bears [6:28 PM]
Pinch hit!

Drew-Warriors [6:28 PM]
Ducks on the Pond baby!

Mike - Borealis [6:28 PM]
:clap::clap::clap:
With he count 2-1 he swings - Foul...
Foul...

Drew-Warriors [6:29 PM]
:duck:

Mike - Borealis [6:29 PM]
and then he stands there, obviously looking for another pitch and watches strike three down the middle of the plate...

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [6:29 PM]
:open_mouth:

Dan - Bears [6:30 PM]
What Denny said

Mike - Borealis [6:30 PM]
Gonzales is looking sharper as he dispatches McDonald on three pitches, a nasty heater on the outside corner leaves the Bear flailing...

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [6:31 PM]
This game has taken an ugly turn

Drew-Warriors [6:31 PM]
Rob Raines wanders along the baseline, not sure where he is

Mike - Borealis [6:32 PM]
Errol Landry looking to get the go ahead run in swings - and dumps it infant of the plate - Jack Hudson bounces, throws to first, and the inning is over...

Dan - Bears [6:32 PM]
WHERE IS BARBARA

Drew-Warriors [6:32 PM]
That inning is going in my notebook as "less than ideal"

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [6:32 PM]
“I used to be big....it’s the games that got small”

Greg - Alleghenies [6:33 PM]
Go Gonzalez
He throws infants

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [6:33 PM]
He did so well they should leave him in several more innings

Mike - Borealis [6:36 PM]
Changes abound for the SL as we move into the 5th... ‘Nitro’ takes the mound and will be throwing to his Crystal lake battery mate, Tony Parker... Alex Bothwell will replace Rains at DH, Aurora 2B Derrick Dwyer will replace Landry at 2B and Neo-Tokyo star ‘Skip’ Grier will take over for Clarence Carpenter...

Drew-Warriors [6:36 PM]
oh yeah

Dan - Bears [6:36 PM]
Finally I can root for Grier
Sounds be easy
Should be

Mike - Borealis [6:37 PM]
Jack Hudson, who’s great play in the bottom of the 4th ended the inning, leads off in the 5th and grounds it to Justavo for out #1...
Kentucky infielder Elichi Memoto works a full count before rolling one up the middle - a hard turn forces Castanieda to hustle in…
and he over runs the ball!! Allowing Memoto to take second - that’s the first error of the game...

Vic (Claymores) [6:40 PM]
Here comes a big inning, boys ...

Drew-Warriors [6:40 PM]
hook 'em skip

Mike - Borealis [6:41 PM]
Dave Hurley takes the plate - the Havana 2B with a runner in scoring position, but he hits a hard, 1-hopper back at the pitcher - ‘Nitro’ checks the runner and gets the out at first...
Danny Burton, probably his last AB - over eager and grounds it in the hole at short - but it’s an easy play for Justavo - inning over...

Going to the B5, still 2-2

Drew-Warriors [6:42 PM]
unclench

Vic (Claymores) [6:42 PM]
Make that a microscopic inning ...

Frank - Badgers [6:42 PM]
joined #all-star2029.

Greg - Alleghenies [6:43 PM]
Gonzalez wants to stay in.

Mike - Borealis [6:47 PM]
The sub action is hot and heavy for the IL, as Calzone Richard Neely comes on to pitch the 5th, throwing to San Juan’s Jesus Negrete...Flint Powell is in the lineup - as is Sean Peters for Burton and Hinojosa for Garcia...
Neely faces Loetzsch to lead off the 5th... Neely works Loetzsch - in-out of the zone, but Teddy grounds a full-count pitch through the hot and into left field for a single...

Drew-Warriors [6:50 PM]
Here we go boys

Justin - Bureaucrats [6:50 PM]
Woooo! SEAN

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [6:50 PM]
Setting the table

Mike - Borealis [6:51 PM]
Jerry Rutledge looks bewilderingly at the 3B coach, turns and squares and bunts it right back to Neely….
Who fields, turns, fires to second for the force...

Kevin - Evas [6:52 PM]
Bunts.

Drew-Warriors [6:52 PM]
3B coach is an anarchist

Mike - Coqui [6:53 PM]
Negrete! San Juan on the big stage.

Mike - Borealis [6:53 PM]
Jeff Grier, of the Akira, getting his first action tonight, swings at 5 pitches - misses two, fouls off two... and grounds a 101 mph fastball to 3rd Shuji Kawamoto - Charleston’s lone All-Star, fields - to second one, on to first - TWO! A double play!!

Heading to the 6th... still 2-2

Vic (Claymores) [6:54 PM]
Just like we drew it up in the clubhouse ...

Dan - Bears [6:54 PM]
God I hate you Grier

Dan - Bears [6:56 PM]
@Ryan Vail

Ryan Vail [6:56 PM]
was added to #all-star2029 by Dan - Bears.

Mike - Borealis [6:57 PM]
Palm Springs Codgers starter Edgardo Guerra comes on for the 6th, and joining him is Badger Ruben Jimenez in CF, Evas Harley Schneider at 3B, Okinawa’s Roberto Diaz at short and Reno’s Steve Boyer in RF...

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [6:57 PM]
Time to get serious and bring on the salmon and green

Drew-Warriors [6:58 PM]
haha

Vic (Claymores) [6:58 PM]
Sounds like a sandwich ... (edited)

Mike - Borealis [6:59 PM]
Guerra wastes no time and looks sharp in dispatching the IL:
Butler grounds out to Dwyer at second...
Hinojosa takes two called strikes - nasty pitches, and then swings and misses for strike three...
Orlando Barron isn’t any better at solving Palm Springs big international FA - as he, too, swings at strike three...

Dylan - Wind Dancers [6:59 PM]
Edison Terry ties for first in AS voting at SS and isn't even the 2nd SS to come in  (edited)

Drew-Warriors [7:00 PM]
:fire:

Doug - Shisa [7:00 PM]
I want the name of the coach making my all stars bunt. (edited)

Drew-Warriors [7:01 PM]
I think it's a Rodeo Clown from the fairgrounds
"Chuckles McBubbles"

Mike - Borealis [7:02 PM]
Melvin McNeal of Hartford comes on for the IL, with Raul Garcia running out to take Butlers spot in the outfield...

Doug - Shisa [7:02 PM]
Fargo is too sophisticated for rodeos.

Drew-Warriors [7:02 PM]
Hence his new job!

Doug - Shisa [7:03 PM]
My favorite part of being on slack is laughing at my phone and having my wife look at me like the nerd I am.

Drew-Warriors [7:03 PM]
I'm using CP this offseason to define some MA as Chuckles the Clown

Dylan - Wind Dancers [7:04 PM]
That's not a clown, that's just the Toyama manager in the old school Lupin colors

Drew-Warriors [7:04 PM]
Now I need to dig a snapshot up...

Mike - Borealis [7:04 PM]
Kalamazoo’s Jimenez grounds a 1-2 pitch to Kawamoto for the first out...
That brings up Shin Seiki’s Harley Schneider, and lifts a 1-2 pitch into RF, but this one falls for a base hit...

Dylan - Wind Dancers [7:04 PM]
They were great.

Doug - Shisa [7:05 PM]
Still disappointed this isn’t a podcast..

Dan - Bears [7:05 PM]
I want to hear Ken do play by play

Mike - Borealis [7:06 PM]
That brings up Lopez - his last AB for sure, and the fans know it as the give him a rousing applause, before he hits into a 6-4-3 double play to end the 6th...

And as the game moves onto the 7th, it’s still 2-2
Duluth’s Geoff Lawson comes on to pitch in the 7th, with the Evas Andres Hernandez taking over at first...

Dan - Bears [7:09 PM]
Be safe, Geoff!

Drew-Warriors [7:09 PM]
*LAWMAN! LAWMAN!*
Give 'em the Law! (edited)
He will find out about his trade to Bakersfield in a few minutes

Mike - Borealis [7:10 PM]
Things don’t look good for Lawson and the Statesmen Kawamoto lines a 2-1 pitch into the right-center gap and he steams into second with a double...

Drew-Warriors [7:11 PM]
ok give em a little less

Dan - Bears [7:11 PM]
:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Mike - Borealis [7:12 PM]
Manchester Jimmy Hudson lofts the first pitch he sees down the left field line…
And it plops in for a single…

Drew-Warriors [7:12 PM]
Nearly takes out Chuckles
wtf Geoff

Mike - Borealis [7:12 PM]
But Kawamoto stops at third...

Doug - Shisa [7:13 PM]
Unhook the plow!

Drew-Warriors [7:13 PM]
Could it be he's contracted the Medina Curse?

Kevin - Evas [7:13 PM]
Hook em

Dan - Bears [7:13 PM]
Only a trade to Bakersfield can cure it

Drew-Warriors [7:14 PM]
It sure as hell cured Vincente

Mike - Borealis [7:14 PM]
Aurora’s John Gray is warming up in the ’pen…
That brings up Jesus Negrete, but he looks over matched swinging at strike three - 1-down...

Drew-Warriors [7:14 PM]
All 6 fans who drove in from Duluth are deflated

Mike - Borealis [7:15 PM]
That brings up Memoto - as the IL looks for the little guys to break the ice…

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:15 PM]
Did he get wind of the deal and intentionally sabotage his ASG appearance? :scream_cat:

Mike - Borealis [7:15 PM]
But he hits one sharply to Dwyer - to second for one…

Drew-Warriors [7:16 PM]
Can't imagine Geoff will be mad to leave Duluth

Mike - Borealis [7:16 PM]
on to first…
DOUBLE PLAY! The side is retired!!

And as the fans stretch... it’s SL 2, IL 2...

Drew-Warriors [7:16 PM]
yeeeaaaaaaaah

Dan - Bears [7:16 PM]
Atta boy Lawson

Drew-Warriors [7:16 PM]
Gave 'em the law after all

Vic (Claymores) [7:16 PM]
What genius stopped Kawamoto at third?

Dan - Bears [7:16 PM]
He's a showman

Drew-Warriors [7:17 PM]
Chuckles is the 3bC for both teams

Mike - Borealis [7:17 PM]
London’s Yasutoki Ine, who benefited from the club’s massive social media campaign, comes on to face Bothwell, Parker and Dwyer...

Drew-Warriors [7:18 PM]
Chuckles.jpg

Mike - Borealis [7:19 PM]
Bothwell lines the ball up the middle for a lead-off single...

Tony Parker follow’s that up with a walk, moving Bothwell to second... (edited)
West Virginia’s Takahiro Takaki is warming up…

Drew-Warriors [7:20 PM]
Takaki...who I traded for Dewitt friggin Barry...:man-facepalming: (edited)

Mike - Borealis [7:21 PM]
Dwyer walks on 4-pitches - Ine has missed with 8 of 9 pitches... The bases are loaded and no outs...

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:22 PM]
He’s really Ine jam right now

Vic (Claymores) [7:22 PM]
Damn social media ...

Justin - Bureaucrats [7:22 PM]
And why was Ine in when he can't get a picth Ine strike zone

Drew-Warriors [7:23 PM]
And here we destroy them

Mike - Borealis [7:23 PM]
Okinawa’s Roberto Diaz comes to the plate, with the infield playing halfway, and he grounds it up the middle - but Memoto grabs it and turns the double play - but Bothwell scores the go ahead run...

Drew-Warriors [7:23 PM]
Or...marginally wound them
but a run is a run

Dan - Bears [7:24 PM]
That's the lead

Mike - Borealis [7:24 PM]
Out comes the manager and in comes Takahiro Takaki to face Reno’s Steve Boyer...

Dan - Bears [7:24 PM]
Bothwell playing small ball

Drew-Warriors [7:25 PM]
Takaki's heater is the stuff of nightmares
10/10 101mph

Kevin - Evas [7:25 PM]
I like Boyer here

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:25 PM]
Me too

Mike - Borealis [7:25 PM]
Boyer greets Takaki with a hard hit ball up the middle - it’s a base hit, Parker comes in and it’s a 4-2 SL lead...

Drew-Warriors [7:26 PM]
let's goooooooo
good read Kev

Vic (Claymores) [7:26 PM]
That was less than optimal.

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:27 PM]
Now let’s put these jokers away! (edited)

Drew-Warriors [7:27 PM]
:coffin:
:hammer:

Mike - Borealis [7:27 PM]
Jeff Grier comes up and he laces a ball down the line…
Raul Garcia picks it up...
Boyer is challenging him...
the throw...
the slide...

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:27 PM]
:scream_cat:

Mike - Borealis [7:27 PM]
SAFE!!

Drew-Warriors [7:27 PM]
WOOOOOOOOO

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:28 PM]
:dizzy:

Mike - Borealis [7:28 PM]
“HOLY COW I THINK HE”S GOING TO MAKE IT”

Drew-Warriors [7:28 PM]
aaaaah

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:28 PM]
That young Boyer fella has a real future in this league, I think

Mike - Borealis [7:29 PM]
It’s falling apart for the IL as Takaki walks Ruben Jimenz - something you don’t want to do infant of Schneider...

Drew-Warriors [7:29 PM]
Still hate Grier but WOOOOOOO

Dan - Bears [7:29 PM]
Mike are you using talk to text with an accent...?

Mike - Borealis [7:30 PM]
Harley hits it square on the nose, but right at Sean Peters…

But the SL has taken the 4-2 lead as we head into the 8th…

Drew-Warriors [7:30 PM]
Well done boys

Justin - Bureaucrats [7:31 PM]
Yaaay! Now Peters is officially an All Star game participant

Dan - Bears [7:31 PM]
Almost time for Lian to lock this down

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:32 PM]
Isn’t it 5-2? Bothwell, Parker, Boyer

Drew-Warriors [7:32 PM]
The perfect weapon.

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:32 PM]
All scored

Mike - Borealis [7:32 PM]
‘Tapper’ Gonzalez of Neo-Tokyo comes on to start the 8th, with Canton’s Harry Hutchins coming in to replace Boyer...

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:33 PM]
I feel like the IL is already beaten psychologically

Drew-Warriors [7:33 PM]
For Harry, England, and St. George!

Mike - Borealis [7:33 PM]
Dave Hurley leads of for the IL and ‘Tapper’ does exactly what you don’t want - walks the leadoff hitter...

Dan - Bears [7:33 PM]
Denny I think you're right, I'm confused

Vic (Claymores) [7:34 PM]
I think it’s 5-2

Justin - Bureaucrats [7:34 PM]
Really denny? After being down 4-2 that's psychologically breaking?

Drew-Warriors [7:35 PM]
Years of SL domination have taken a heavy psychological toll

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:35 PM]
Well, it’s been well known for years that the IL is the lesser league

Mike - Borealis [7:35 PM]
Sean Peters comes up with a chance to tie it and he wastes no time, swinging at the first pitch…

Justin - Bureaucrats [7:35 PM]
HOL UP (youre probably right, but false anger is funny)

Mike - Borealis [7:36 PM]
BOOM!

Justin - Bureaucrats [7:36 PM]
YES

Mike - Borealis [7:36 PM]
He hits it HIGH...

Drew-Warriors [7:36 PM]
ah shit

Mike - Borealis [7:36 PM]
He hits it DEEP...

Justin - Bureaucrats [7:36 PM]
Oh no...

Mike - Borealis [7:36 PM]
Hutchins at the wall...
AND HE MAKES THE CATCH!!!

Justin - Bureaucrats [7:36 PM]
FRAAAAAAAK

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:36 PM]
:scream_cat:

Mike - Borealis [7:36 PM]
UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Justin - Bureaucrats [7:36 PM]
I KNEW IT
I FREAKING KNEW IT

Drew-Warriors [7:36 PM]
YES!
Troll level=1000\

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:36 PM]
Man, almost thought I started my trash talking too soon
This announcer really knows how to bring the drama

Mike - Borealis [7:37 PM]
With that, the Sovereign League manager wastes no time and brings in Aurora’s former-closer, John Gray...

Justin - Bureaucrats [7:38 PM]
So basically the announcer is Charlie Steiner? Can't read a fly ball to save his life

Dan - Bears [7:38 PM]
I'd be Lian if I said I wasn't disappointed

Justin - Bureaucrats [7:38 PM]
(no offense to Mike, you're doing beautifully)

Drew-Warriors [7:38 PM]
Typical anti-Chinese management

Mike - Borealis [7:39 PM]
And no time is wasted as Garcia swings at the first pitch and bounces it to Schneider and he starts the around the horn 5-4-3 double play, and with that, the side is retired!!

Off to B8, 4-2 SL... (edited)

Vic (Claymores) [7:41 PM]
I still think it’s 5-2 - Bothwell scores the go-ahead, Parker scored to make it 4-2, Boyer scored to make it 5-2 ...

Mike - Borealis [7:42 PM]
Andres Hernandez takes strike three looking... and that brings out the IL manager and ‘Pappy’ Fisher of the Scottish comes out to face Bothwell...

Drew-Warriors [7:43 PM]
Did Boyer score or did he just beat a throw?
I mean...I'm sure Mike can see the score.

Vic (Claymores) [7:44 PM]
True. Maybe play wasn’t at the plate

Mike - Borealis [7:44 PM]
Tony Parker chokes up on a 1-2 pitch…
and he TURNS on it…
Delivering it 402 feet out into left-center! A 2-run bomb and its 6-2!!

Drew-Warriors [7:45 PM]
warm up the bus folks

Vic (Claymores) [7:45 PM]
Well, I won’t have to pay big extension money to Fisher, at least ...

Mike - Borealis [7:46 PM]
Edison Terry lifts a lazy fly to left... and Roberto Diaz takes a called strike three... but the damage is done!

Heading to the top of the 9th... The fans are rising as Evan Humphry’s is coming in from the ’pen... 6-2 SL...

Vic (Claymores) [7:46 PM]
I can just say, you know Ken, remember that lollipop you threw to Parker?

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:47 PM]
Just show him this thread

Mike - Borealis [7:48 PM]
Humphrys comes on in the 9th and immediately walks Florida’s Alfredo Hinojosa...

Drew-Warriors [7:48 PM]
Oh good

Mike - Borealis [7:48 PM]
That brings up Orlando Barron, who watches a wild pitch get by Parker and Hinojosa moves to second...

Dan - Bears [7:49 PM]
Bring in Lian!

Mike - Borealis [7:49 PM]
And with that Humphrys walks Barron...

Vic (Claymores) [7:49 PM]
Good eye, Orlando!

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:50 PM]
Who is this man Humphrys?

Mike - Borealis [7:50 PM]
He gets Kawamoto to swing at strike three... as Bob Burns heats up in the ’pen...
Fargo…
Humphrys looks a tad amped up as he walks Hudson - loading the bases - and looks more perturbed as his own manager walks out and signals for Burns...

Kevin - Evas [7:52 PM]
This is getting dicey

Drew-Warriors [7:52 PM]
zoinks scoob

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:52 PM]
A little too anxious to do well in front of the locals

Mike - Borealis [7:53 PM]
Jesus Negrete - the former Aurora catcher, greets the current Aurora closer with single through the right side - Hinojosa scores, it’s 6-3 and the bases are still loaded...

Vic (Claymores) [7:53 PM]
Negrete!

Dan - Bears [7:53 PM]
Bring. In. Lian.

Drew-Warriors [7:53 PM]
brb getting rosary

Mike - Coqui [7:53 PM]
SJ guy shows up. Shame Gomez wasnt used 2 innings ago (edited)

Mike - Borealis [7:54 PM]
Elichi Memoto comes to the plate and grounds one to Schneider - a tailor-made double play ball...
AND SCHNEIDER BOTCHES IT!!!
Barron scores, it’s 6-4 and the bases are still loaded...

Drew-Warriors [7:55 PM]
ffs

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:55 PM]
Who is this man Schneider

Mike - Borealis [7:55 PM]
Burns is furious...
Oh… Harley Schnieder… he has a long… intriguing history…

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:56 PM]
Sordid

Dan - Bears [7:56 PM]
Bring in someone with a cooler head

Vic (Claymores) [7:56 PM]
And cement hands?

Mike - Borealis [7:56 PM]
But Harley redeems himself as Dave Hurley - swinging for the fences, pops it up to third for the second out...
Leaving the IL fates in the hands of Sean Peters…

Drew-Warriors [7:57 PM]
swing batter batter

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:58 PM]
Hurley-Harley

Mike - Borealis [7:58 PM]
And Peters swings at a 2-2 pitch and misses - and the Sovereign League wins!!!

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [7:58 PM]
YES SL RULES

Drew-Warriors [7:58 PM]
SL RULES

Dan - Bears [7:58 PM]
Ok fine Burns is aight

Vic (Claymores) [7:58 PM]
Booo!

Kevin - Evas [7:59 PM]
Whew

Drew-Warriors [7:59 PM]
great game

Mike - Borealis [7:59 PM]
The final numbers: The SL 6 R on 9 H and 2 E… The IL 4 R on 8 H and 0 E…

Kevin - Evas [7:59 PM]
Very enjoyable

Vic (Claymores) [8:00 PM]
Great job, Mike.

Dan - Bears [8:00 PM]
SL wins with power hitting and dominant pitching, not so much defense

Drew-Warriors [8:00 PM]
yeah really well done Mike

Dan - Bears [8:00 PM]
Awesome, Mike. This was really fun.

Mike - Borealis [8:00 PM]
The winning pitcher is Geoff Lawson, with the save to Bob Burns.... the loss dos to Yasutoki Ine...

Vic (Claymores) [8:01 PM]
If this commissioner thing doesn’t work out, you can do play by play.

Mike - Borealis [8:01 PM]
The time of the game was 3:15 in front of a sell-out crowd of 65,000...
AND…
The All-Star MVP for 2029 is…

Dan - Bears [8:01 PM]
MVP?

Drew-Warriors [8:01 PM]
Chuckles the Clown!

Mike - Borealis [8:02 PM]
Crystal Lake’s Tony Parker, who was 1-1 with a walk, scored 2-runs and had the decisive 2-run homer…

Drew-Warriors [8:02 PM]
atta boy tony
great fun guys, gotta start my day now that it's noon

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [8:03 PM]
So the only question is: was Boyer’s slide in the bottom of the seventh to beat the throw just into THIRD base, then?

Listening to the call on the radio I assumed it was into home

Mike - Borealis [8:04 PM]
Yes… I’m sorry… did I fail to say third?

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [8:04 PM]
I knew I should have watched the game on TV!

Mike - Borealis [8:04 PM]
:joy:

Vic (Claymores) [8:04 PM]
My cable didn’t carry it ...

Denny Hills - Palm Springs Codgers [8:07 PM]
A great job of announcing....very dramatic

Evan - Underground [8:12 PM]
Well
It's somehow fitting that London found a way to lose even on a night they weren't playing

Vic (Claymores) [8:13 PM]
Thanks, Mike. Doing the All Star game live is a great tradition.

Drew-Warriors [8:13 PM]
Agreed x10!

Mike - Borealis [8:26 PM]
Thanks Guys!!
