Could be. Our river water is recommended only for drinking. We can neither confirm nor deny the health risks if you swim in it!

And those prognosticators had Aurora second BEFORE Provost went down - look out Reno, we obviously will be falling fast...

Spring Training Neat... At the Plate...
- First Base: The Young, the Old, and the Very Old all have taken the challenge head on. Incumbent Pedro Medrano has started 12-23 with 11 RBI. Rookie Jose Torres is just 2-4, with a pair of walks, and Newcomer, but Oldie, Carlos Saenz was 4-9 with a homer...
- Another rookie looking strong, LF Ricardo Zamora was 5-10 with a homer and showing a flash of the speed he has - speed Aurora desperately needs to replace with Ferringo gone...
- Nick Heath's well publicized off-season diet regiment may have paid off - but 2-6 is a small sample...
- 'Big Whiskey' was 5-17, but 3 of the 5 were of the HR variety - that's a positive sign for Aurora's all-time HR hitter...

Spring Training Not So Neat... At the Plate...
- 'Fido' 0-9, 'Fudd' 0-6...
- Tomas Flores, last years Royal Raker candidate, 4-19, and 1-3 in SB...

Spring Training Neat... On the Mound - Starters...
- John Turner's first start for the Borealis went well - 4 IP, 1 R, 8 K, 1 BB...
- 'Terror' only had a pair of walks disrupt his otherwise solid outing...

Spring Training Not So Neat... On the Mound - Starters...
- 'Tugboat': 7.2 IP, 17 H, 8 R... Did we mention this is Spring Training...?
- Rivera, 8 H, 3 R in 4 IP...
- Now rotation hopeful Rob Imoff had 2 innings in relief, a solo homer and a pair of K's...
- Nieves, and ugly 8 H, 2 HR, 5 R in one outing...
- Provost... enough said..

Spring Training Neat... On the Mound - Relievers...
- Closer John Gray looking ready for the season - 1 H and 7 K in 5 IP, 3 saves...
- Rookie Orlando Moya, 5.1 IP, 3 H, 4 K...
- The 'Onion' threw 3 innings, with 3 H and 3 K...
- Also on the 0.00 ERA (with innings in parenthesis): Latour (2.2), Taylor (2), Vega (2.2)...

Those generated predictions have always been 'interesting' to say the least.

Anything is possible!

Last year, I was predicted to win 103 games, and crush the division (I know, right!?)

.....and I ended up last with 79 wins instead !+)

Reno has started strong in spring training going 6-1. Outfielder Rowan Stuart has the hottest bat, posting a 1.328 OPS in 26 PA. On the pitching side Angel Valdez is 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA.

Yuma won more games than it lost this first week. Most be some obvious flaw. Don’t worry, the manager and coaches will fix it post haste and the Dozers will grind their way to the bottom soon enough.

Wow the Codgers taking Desert Hills? That would be huge.
I would love to live in whatever bizarro universe those predictors inhabit! :-L Back here in reality, I think we will struggle to even have a winning record, while the Borealis comfortably cruise to another division title. :shake:

The number of 1st and 2nd round draft busts I have in Triple-A is extremely depressing. I really need to solve this problem fast.

Nice to see Yogi Robles friend, catcher Norihide Yamamoto (39 years old) sign with Florida. Too bad Yogi moved on before that move.

I just noticed the Provost injury. Horrible. You hate to see one of the best in the game go down like that. Coming back at age 37 in 2029 will be no easy feat either.

I wonder if this makes a return of Snow to Aurora, maybe on a 1 year deal, more likely.

Yeah... talk to that cheap-skate excuse of a son running the team - he'd never give his brother the extra green...

Fun Clark Snow facts...
- He has more WAR (16.1) than any other 11th round draft pick.
- He was traded for Eduardo Romano and the two produced almost EXACTLY the same WAR for their new teams as each other: 7.1 to 7.2.
- Snow went from leading the IL with 19 losses in 2025 to winning 16 games the next year, good for 5th in the SL

More fun Clark Snow facts - When Aurora sought to extend his contract he asked for $24M, and never budged... I have to say I was surprised by what Romano gave Amsterdam - I thought he was on the downside, but maybe it was just a better fit... or just the lesser League - isn't that what IL stands for? :-x
