I kind of feel like it diminishes that whole 'fog' thing...
I think the fog thing is still there because players can still over or under perform. Also, development/decline of players is still a wildcard aspect.

I was also a bit iffy when I saw these drastic changes, but now with a better understanding, I think I actually like the change.

Well I hate the changes. Think it has put things backwards. And I don't agree the scouts think the same as they did before.

I was already in the LRS once and rather not go back.

We fear change.

But apart from that, I kind of like the ratings balancing out with a mid point (actually would have been happy using the traditional 20-80 scale at some point) so I'd be fine sticking with it now that we understand.

I will say that my scout seems to think my prospects are significantly worse now based on their potential star ratings.

Any idea why that kind of a shift might have occurred?

I don't mind a new ratings, but the fact that the scout says some vile things towards some guys he loved, has me questioning that the players are the same.

Commish wrote:Regarding the scouting evaluation changes. Much of this can be attributed to checking the option "All player ratings are displayed relative to Planetary Extreme Baseball Alliance", rather than absolute values. This is a change from v.17 where this was not checked. What this did was make a '5' rating average in comparison to PEBA talent, and created more separation for ratings of ML-level players relative to each other.

This gives us a more fine-grained looked at ML level players, though it flattens the range of ratings for minor leaguers (making statistical performance more important in evaluating minor league players).
So if I'm reading this right, it makes it a bit easier to evaluate major-leaguers and a bit tougher to evaluate minor-leaguers. I guess I'm okay with leaving it this way....anything that shakes up Aurora is fine by me :angelic-green:

Does importing from OOTP 17 and downloading update in-game work or do we need to do a full refresh of the download? You're talking to the dumbest guy ever with OOTP file management - I just tried for 45 minutes and cant figure out how to extract the file I just downloaded to an OOTP folder.

Current minor leaguer ratings will be a bit tougher if you're currently set at "Ratings relative to: PEBA", though this is the setting you would want to use when looking at their ML potential.

But you can set the ratings relative to any league you choose, which makes it a vast improvement for evaluating current abilities of minor leaguers.

Yep, the selector appears on any player profile page. The setting you choose remains in effect even after you leave the player page, so you can evaluate an entire minor league roster pretty easily.

1B Hamilton Coffey would be one I'd be interested for you to take a look at.

He seems to have nose dived according to my scout.
