He has been pitching great so far this season. Especially when put in perspective to the randomness of my pitching staff. 6 Total all-stars, 3 of them are starters, definitely can't complain about my first few months in Hartford!

When I lost James Heard to free agency, Felix Zavala was his indirect replacement at 1B.
He was a totally different type of player (a patient, uber-competent contact hitter rather than a slugger) and he has blended very well on our team, so i'm happy how that turned out.

Anyway, it will be neat to see both Felix and James playing alongside each other, and both as starters!

That's a bummer for Fargo SP Ernesto Molina, being injured and having to miss the game. This would have been his first All-Star game appearance. Hopefully he recovers from his injury and makes a run at it next season. He was injured about a month ago and he's still leading the Dinosaurs in strikeouts.

Nice showing for my revamped infield - all 4 of my infield starters (1B-2B-3B-SS) made the squad. It would be neat if they made the field at the same time with Suitani on the mound, but that's unlikely.

Mostly I'm just hoping no one gets hurt.

Looks like a small rain shower is delaying the start of the game! The delay should be no more than 30 minutes. Stay tuned ;-D

The Sovereign League's top-voted pitcher Yakamochi Suitani is ready to start the game.

New Orleans' Felix Zavala will be the IL's first batter. He gets to a full count, finally makes contact, and grounds out.

Pedro Rodriguez hits a lazer up the middle and into center field for a single.

James Heard now up. Suitani keeps him on the slow stuff. Eventually Heard strikes out on an 85 mph cutter.

Rodriguez still on first base, and now Pat Barry is at the plate. He hits a ground ball to the shortstop Hernandez, and throw to first for the out.

That retires the side. No runs, one hit, no errors, and a runner left on base.

It is the bottom of the first inning, and Hartford right-hander Ray Graham gets ready on the mound for the IL.

The Sovereign League's first batter will be Aurora outfielder Paul Carlisle.

The 2-2 count on Carlisle... Graham with the fastball way high, checked swing, but he loses the appeal! A strikeout to start the game.

José Luna now steps to the plate. He goes down swinging thanks to another fastball from Graham. The pitcher certainly seems on form so far.

Andres Hernandez now up. He drills the 0-1 pitch directly to the shortstop, but Edwards jumps up and snags it!

That will end the inning.

End of 1st: IL 0 - SL 0
