That's the OOTP predictions. StatsLab sees things differently.

That is quite the difference in predictions

OOTP had Duluth at 85
StatsLab has us at 102

Interesting. The pre-spring training StatsLab predictions had the Longshoremen losing over 90 games IIRC. This Opening Day version has us at 76-86, which is within hailing distance of the OOTP generated version (79-83).

Apparently the OOTP predictor thinks Vaclav Verlaan (who was robbed of the 2025 IL Wunderkind, by the way) is for real, projecting him as a Top 10 hitter (.258, 38 HR, 100 RBI). So we've got that going for us. It also thinks our pitching staff wasn't a fluke last year, projecting us to have a 3.53 ERA in an extreme hitters park.

I'll take that.

Than you Frank, putting the predicted results back into norm

Back when I ran the predictions contests, StatsLab was consistently more accurate than OOTP. I think that was at least two OOTP versions ago, though. I should also point out that neither was as accurate as most of our GM's who participated. That's based on looking at order of standings rather than raw win totals, which was never tracked.

Excited for the season to kick off with tonight's simulation. Exported and ready to go against Aurora. Unfortunately, Jerry Long won't be in the starting lineup - he's day-to-day with an injury for 2 more days so better to rest him up and not take any chances to start the season. Otherwise the Sandgnats are ready to go.

Mixed up the starting rotation a little bit and the bullpen has a new look for 2026. Starting lineup is the same except for the addition of Raines. Have not had the chance to post my article on the season preview. I'll try to get that done tonight. Best of luck to everyone in 2026. We have a great league. Here's to another season. :catcher:

Not that happy really with the team we're putting out but arrived too late in K-Zoo to influence it as much as I'd like. Too many veterans able to refuse demotion and earning too much to sling out. They will all get their comeuppance at the end of the year, hope they're not expecting an extension

My pleasure this season will be the sorting out of the farm teams, A-ball Nampa was the only affiliate to even reach the Post Season and for some that snapped quite long sequences. They will be treated to TLC and made to field age appropriate players as they return to glory

Good luck to all our outstanding GM's and I hope we all have a glorious 2026

I was wondering this too! I have a better chance of winning that than I do the Rodriguez Cup, that's for sure...
