New-ish GM in Long Beach

#1 Post by Apollos »

Greetings all! I'm Brian Hazelwood, previously the Sandgnats GM from 2014-2023.... As several have noted, the rate of recidivism for former PEBA GM's is quite high and I'm happy to see so many familiar faces around these parts still, and the league thriving as it is! I'll be re-joining to take over Long Beach for 2031 with an eventual return to Tempe as part of PEBA's next round of expansion in '32. To those I haven't met before, really looking forward to speaking with you all - and to those whom I'm already familiar with, very much looking forward to catching up again!!!

Life has moved fast since I was last in PEBA (late 15/early 16 timeframe IIRC). My family and I are currently living in Athens, Greece where we've been for the last ~18 mos. We'll likely be here until the end of the year when we return to the States. We added a second kid to the mix just because life wasn't crazy enough, and our oldest is now approaching 6!

Given everything going on right now, I hope this post finds you and your family/friends all in good spirits and health. Hoping this little corner of our universe can provide some distraction and levity during the otherwise trying time. Can't wait to jump back into the fold with you all!

Welcome back, Brian. Congrats on the family addition and hope all is well and safe for you and family in Greece. It's high on my list of places to visit, although probably not any time soon.

Thank you all for the warm welcome back. I can say that I’ve been lurking for at least the last couple years (and watched from afar with envy as crystal lake waited for my departure to win a PEC - turns out all they really needed was competent management) so I never truly disconnected from the PEBAverse, but needed to regain some footing in my personal life that would allow me the proper time to dedicate to this little world of ours. Believe we have successfully struck that balance now and I’m very excited to dive back in as my previous PEBA experience ruined me for single player games...
