The World's Smallest Bear
We welcomed the birth of our first child, Henry, on Saturday morning.
If I have any say, he''ll be known as "Hank" (as in Greenberg, my original inspiration). We didn't know what sex the baby was, but I will say I figured it was fated to be a boy when I began to read "The Southpaw" by Mark Harris, a novel about a left-handed pitcher, the day before my wife went into labor. I had no idea until I opened it that the pitcher's name is Henry Wiggen.
True story, I will share with *no one* else: when we were in the birthing room, while my wife was mid-labor, I texted by co-owner and best friend. 30% of the text was about the impending birth. 70% regarded some deadline deals that I really wanted him to stay on top of.
It may sound crazy, and it may well be: but my goal is to one day hand over the reigns of the team to the little guy.
Take care everyone.

Great news! Congratulations with the new addition to your family.
And that is totally awesome that you were discussing PEBA at the hospital! I could never get away with that.

Re: The World's Smallest Bear
Thanks everyone for the nice words.
It really is something. Probably the only thing in my life (besides bikram yoga) that is actually much harder (and more gratifying) then anyone possibly could have explained to me. We're getting by, and doing pretty well, which is about the best thing one could say after 4 days.
Needless to say, the Bears are giving me a wonderful respite from the occasional bedlam. And for that I thank you all, especially -- as always -- the Commish.

Congrats, Jon! Missed this yesterday but your post was a great mood enhancer this evening. I hope your ambition to pass along the Bears to your little guy comes true.
