Wow. Just wow.

So what is your favorite solo-able dungeon crawler?
Hands down, Gloomhaven. I missed the original Kickstarter campaign. During the recent second printing campaign, the designer released 10 extra missions to play with either first printing physical versions or digitally via [url=http://store.steampowered.com/app/28616 ... Simulator/]Tabletop Simulator[/url.] I went through all 10 on TS and had an absolutely blast. Cannot wait for the physical game to arrive in November.

It's great, isn't it? I've only played once, but it really impressed me, and it's not nearly as complex as I thought it might be. Only trick is that you really need three players - there are rules for two, but my understanding is it doesn't play very well like that.

—I could really dig my teeth into that one! It may cost an arm and a leg, but I gotta get me that game.
—I could lend you a hand, but that might be going out on a limb.
—Just don't be a heel about it! Though I do love a good ribbing!

It's not at all like some that make me want to gouge my eyes out. It's really got a leg up on them.

As did I, and then I chickened out when debating whether to go for the reprint kickstarter. Now I'm kicking myself, because that is very much the game I want now. I doubt I'll ever be able to afford it, even used, given the demand.

Correct, T&T is not nearly as good with only two players. And you are right, it really isn't that complicated, considering it's a wargame, but the wooden-block hidden-values mechanic makes it work very well; I think most military games, even those which affect to be "true simulations", give players too much information about their opponent.

Anyway, I am rambling now....just glad to see you liked it :)

Don't be so sure of that. It's headed to retail in Novemeber and I expect the price to be well south of $100 once the OLGS's do their discounting. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if you managed to snag a copy for under $60 before the year is out. Let me know if you do - I'll send you a photocopy of my Kickstarter-exclusive solo missions book. :D

I would imagine it will sell out everywhere immediately, but I hope you're right.

Oh, so wrong, Mr. Rodriguez. I only wish I'd backed it.

Meanwhile Santa brought Zombicide: Black Plague. Fun light dungeon crawl. Enjoying the second scenario with a Zombicider (cider and Jamaica rum)!

Actually I was able to trade bile and torch to Baldric, who smote the abomination and fatty. There's still hope!

Not Gloomhaven, but fun nonetheless!

Ooh, nice! I've heard good things about Black Plague, including that it's excellent played solo, which I sometimes do. You wouldn't happen to be playing it that way, would you, Mike?

Meanwhile, I've been pretty into Vital Lacerda's Lisboa recently. This game is elegant and brain-burning in equal measure, and I love it! You're Portuguese businessmen competing to make your fortune in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that leveled Lisbon in 1755. Maybe that sounds dry, but this game is just so darn colorful! check out these pictures and tell me you aren't intrigued:
Pretty cool, huh? Lisboa has quickly become one of my favorites. I expect I'll be coming back to this one regularly.
