I have to sheepishly admit that I'm not that into music. I know, I know: Who isn't into music?? I'm just weird, that's all. :-B That said, I will occasionally listen to something. When I do, it's invariably from the '90s. Not sure why that is... it's like I'm stuck in the grunge era and can't escape! So my top 5 bands read like a time warp to 10 years ago:
  1. Live
  2. Foo Fighters
  3. Smashing Pumpkins
  4. The Offspring
  5. The Cranberries
Others that I enjoy include Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M., U2, Depeche Mode, New Order, Enigma, Incubus, Counting Crows, and Toad the Wet Sprocket. I also absolutely adore the soundtracks to The Last of the Mohicans, Braveheart, Gladiator and The Lord of the Rings.

1. Brand New
2. Taking Back Sunday
3. Funeral for a Friend
4. Jimmy Eat World
5. Thrice

Brand New has to be considered in any conversation re: the best bands of all time. The lyrics are great and the music matches it perfectly. TBS is also quite good. FFaF are Welsh and angry, which makes for good music. Jimmy Eat World manages a lyrical depth not shown in their singles (usually) and Thrice gets no credit for how good they are.

I am the opposite of John, I love music. I listen to music all day long at work and any other time I can sneak it in. My brothers and I get into debates about it all of the time. I can promise that if Joel (Duluth) had an internet connection and if Jared (Yuma) weren't back forth between hospitals they would vote for Brand New as well. I will let Bryan speak for himself.

I am honored you gave me permission to have my own opinion! Huge day for me.

1. Brand New
2. Taking Back Sunday
3. Dead Poetic
4. Thrice
5. Funeral for a Friend

I am partial to DP because they are from the same area as I am (Dayton). Other than that I guess Canton kind of stole my thunder here. Tool bag.

I don't listen to anything even remotely on these lists. I guess I'm just getting old. But these bands are all still making great music.

1. Iron Maiden
2. Queensryche
3. Megadeth
4. Motley Crue
5. Metallica

A great diversity of musical tastes in here. We've got Alt Rock (Brad), Metal (Matt), Christian (Dean), and Outright Crappy (me).

I forgot about Jars of Clay. I like them too. We listen to music each night with dinner and Amy started putting on Dinner Classics - Dean Martin, Perry Como, Andy Williams. I wasn't sure how I felt at first but I like it now. The old songs are fun to listen to. And the artists really can sing.
