Just please don't complain when the All Star Game is treated like the meaningless exhibition game that it will be.

I don't think I have ever cared about an all star game since I was 12. :)

The All-Star game is supposed to be fun!! Now it has a chance to go back to that idea...

Now if they'll go back to alternating years for WS home field, they'll have it right. Best record is the most deceiving thing - a team may have that edge only because they have a 58-104 team in their division. Alternating is the only fair way.

Just my 2₽...

That horse left the barn a long time ago. The game is just a promotional event now. The stopped treating it as a real game. When every team has to be represented, and guys are rolled in for an inning then rotated out. Even OOTP doesn't manage a game that badly. The players are too expensive to risk for a meaningless game like the AS game. I'd rather go watch the local softball games than the that farce.

Another CBA change -- DL stints down to 10 games.

And an article on how that change might play out, which makes it seem like a modest win for the players in a CBA that otherwise seems to skew toward the owners.

The American League took greater advantage of the rule, going 11-3 in the All-Star Game while the rule was in effect. But the National League was 8-6 in the World Series over the same span.
Turns out, home field advantage doesn't matter that much.

Personally, I love the All-Star Game, although I think I really love the idea of the All-Star Game more than the game itself. I know I've watched most of them since I was a kid, although the first one I vividly remember anything about was the one in Baltimore that Mussina did not get into that set off all the crazy roster moves in the first place. At any rate, I still like seeing all the stars gathered on the same field. I like seeing the guys who are there for their first (and only?) time. I like seeing the guys that are there almost every year. I just think it's fun.
